Why Choose JOI Rehab?
JOI Rehab is the Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Division of the Jacksonville Orthopedic Institute. The JOI Physicians created JOI Rehab to provide an integrated service module with the goal of improving the quality of care and outcomes for their patients. The clinicians of the JOI Rehab work very closely with the physicians to develop treatment protocols and advanced rehabilitation techniques.
Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute Rehabilitation was founded in December of 2003 with its San Marco location. Today, JOI Rehab has grown to 12 offices in Northeast Florida, from Nassau County to World Golf Village and from the Beaches to Fleming Island. JOI Rehab is the preferred provider for Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine by all of the major professional, college and high schools in our area. The reason why so many patients and athletes choose JOI Rehab is because we have outstanding outcomes!
What Makes JOI Rehab Different?
Why choose JOI Rehab? The quick answer is that our patients tell us everyday that JOI Rehab is special because of the many dedicated employees that work here. We are a part of the Jacksonville Orthopedic Institute and we strive every day for the best customer service and patient outcomes. We make sure our facilities are clean and safe for our patients.
Our therapists work directly with the Orthopedic Doctors of JOI, which can be is really helpful after surgery. Orthopedic surgery usually requires physical or occupational therapy following the procedure to restore normal movement and function. The therapists of JOI communicate daily with our surgeons to discuss the specific procedure and any details that may impact therapy. This relationship ensures that everyone is on the same page with their post-operative recovery.
Doctors and therapists of JOI and JOI Rehab use the same medical documentation system. This allows them to see each other’s treatment parameters and improves the level of care. This really is the reason why so many people choose JOI Rehab.
Is JOI Rehab Convenient for Me?
JOI’s physicians recognize that physical therapy appointments take time out of your day, therefore we want to make coming to therapy as simple as possible. That’s why we offer 12 locations that are spread out over the Northeast Florida region. From Fernandina Beach to the IKEA area, to the World Golf Village, we are close to everyone!
JOI Rehab also offers online appointments (telehealth), which allows patients who are at higher risk to continue their physical therapy from home. Patients can download a free ZOOM app on their computer or smartphone. This is a great way to progress exercises and address concerns without coming to the office.
One of JOI’s therapists can also assist you with therapy in your home. This option is helpful if you are concerned about exposure to COVID-19. The program is called the JOI Rehab Bridge Program. The Bridge program allows patients who are at high risk with COVID-19 but need hands-on care such as manipulation or massage to continue care without coming to the office. Our therapists wear masks, gloves, and gowns during home visits.
The good news is that most insurance companies treat office visits, online visits, and home visits the same.
