Our South Rehab center is located conveniently on the Baptist South Hospital Medical Office Building 3 on the second floor. This location offers traditional physical therapy and hand therapy with a specialized sine center and a spine therapist. This location also provides custom hand splinting and other durable medical equipment. We are now located right next to our JOI South Physician Practice for your convenience.

Hours of Operation
The JOI Rehab South location is located at the intersection of Old St Augustine Road and Philips Hwy. JOI Rehab South clinic offers Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Hand Therapy, Sports Rehab, Massage, Laser Therapy, Acupuncture, DME or Bracing, Graston Therapy, KT Taping and Return to Sport Services. We work closely with your JOI Physician, but we also work with any physician who prescribes one of our services. Our goal is to return you to your prior level of function with good customer service.

Heather is an occupational therapist with 20 plus years of experience treating upper extremity orthopedic injuries. She obtained her hand certification in 2006. Heather works closely with the JOI surgeons to help her patients reach their functional goals. She continues to enjoy working with her colleagues in a team approach atmosphere.

Allan graduated with a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from the University of the City of Manila (Philippines) in 2000 and has been a licensed physical therapist since. He obtained his transitional doctorate degree in physical therapy with high honors from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences (2017) in St. Augustine, Florida. He has worked in various clinical settings which include long-term care, home health, acute care and out patient settings. He has been with JOI since 2013 and started working as the spine physical therapist at the JOI South Clinic – Spine Center since 2014. He is a board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) and is a current member of the Orthopedic Section of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy (AAOMPT). His area of interest includes the use of manual therapy techniques in treating various orthopedic conditions particularly the cervical and lumbar spine. He is currently working towards obtaining his manual therapy certification through the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences.

Julia is an Occupational Therapist and Certified Hand Therapist with over 20 years of experience treating upper extremity orthopaedic diagnoses. She obtained her Certification in Hand Therapy in 1992, after specializing in the field for many years. Julia has extensive experience in custom splinting and direct patient care. Julia has been the Hand Therapy Coordinator for JOI Rehabilitation and is the JOI Rehab South Site Coordinator.
Tiffany Patterson, MOTR/L, CHT

For the past seven years Tiffany has worked in an outpatient orthopaedic setting, where she concentrates on hand and upper extremity rehabilitation. In 2007, she became a Certified Hand Therapist. Tiffany has been working with JOI Rehabilitation since 2006.
Joanna Starkey-Marshall, DPT, CHT

Joanna is one of the original members of JOI rehabilitation. She has been a CHT for over 10 years working with all injuries of the upper extremity. She also is a performing arts specialist working with Broadway physical therapy and as a dancer herself for several years prior to becoming a therapist. Joanna enjoys expanding and improving her manual skills and recently became a fascial stretch therapist. This is a certified stretching technique using a pain-free manual stretch to entire connective tissue paths rather than a certain muscle or joint. She has taught in local and national courses for upper extremity disorders and performing artist injuries. Joanna loves the team atmosphere of working with high level surgeons and fellow hand therapist.
Joe Stubits, PTA

Joe is a native of Fernandina Beach, FL where he grew up playing multiple sports. While in middle school, Joe sustained a significant knee injury requiring surgery and months of Physical Therapy. Once he was able to return to playing sports, Joe knew that he wanted to work in the Physical Therapy field and help others return to their hobbies and sports like he was able to. Since becoming a licensed PTA, Joe has had clinical experience in outpatient, skilled nursing and home health settings and has had the opportunity to work with patients with sports injuries, orthopedic, neurological, cardiac and medically complex conditions. Joe has been a member of the JOI rehab team since 2016.

Before coming to Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute, Tracy worked with teams at UAB and North Georgia College. Tracy graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Athletic Training in 2005. She completed her degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant from Florida State College of Jacksonville in 2015. Tracy enjoys working in outpatient orthopedics and has spent time with a variety of sports teams. Tracy has been with JOI since 2010.
Dominic Worsowicz, PT, DPT

Dominic is a graduate of the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. Through his internships and work at JOI, he has treated patients with a variety of orthopedic conditions. He enjoys the physical therapy profession and continues to keep current with the newest treatments and therapies.
Micaela Hill, Rehabilitation Technician

Micaela grew up in central Florida and attended Jacksonville University on a Division I rowing scholarship. She interned with Jacksonville Orthopedic Institute in 2017 and 2018. Micaela joined the JOI team in 2018 as a Rehabilitation Technician. Micaela is currently working to complete her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy at Jacksonville University. She anticipates to complete her degree in 2021. She enjoys spending time at the beach, running, and spending time with her deaf dog, Orchid.
Ellen Policastri AP, L.Ac, Dipl. Ac. – Acupuncturist
Ellen Policastri AP, L.Ac, Dipl. Ac. is a licensed Acupuncture Physician in Florida, and Licensed Acupuncturist in New Jersey. Ellen is a nationally board certified Diplomat of Acupuncture (NCCAOM). Ellen began her education and training at the University of South Florida in Tampa. She then attended East West College of Natural Medicine in Sarasota where she earned her Master’s degree in Oriental Medicine and Bachelor’s degrees in both Biology and Professional Health Sciences. A native of Florida, she has recently relocated to the Jacksonville area with her husband.
Ellen has been in practice for over 11 years in an integrative setting. She is an experienced clinician and is passionate about helping people heal and stay well. She has received extensive training in sports and orthopedic acupuncture. Ellen specializes in treating acute and chronic pain syndromes as well as assisting in patient’s rehabilitation from injuries. She has worked with a broad range of patients in all age groups and focuses on a preventative and holistic approach while also providing a gentle and nurturing experience. Staying up-to-date on current research and continuing education, Ellen truly enjoys learning and educating her patients on the many benefits of acupuncture.
Shane Nall, LMT
Shane Nall is a native of Jacksonville Beach and a local around the beaches community in his 26 years of living. As a graduate of The Florida School of Advanced Bodywork in Jacksonville, formally known as the Southeastern Schools of Neuromuscular Massage, Shane is well versed in Structural Integration Bodywork and Neuromuscular Massage Modalities. His focus is identifying the causative factors of muscular pain and how posture can create and form muscular imbalances that cause structural pain. With a deep understanding in the anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology of the body, Shane uses multiple Medical Massage modalities to treat the pain people experience throughout daily life such as; Neuromuscular Therapy, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release Technique, and Sports Massage.
Massage Therapy and Bodywork is Shane’s passion, he is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) and currently working towards growing as a LMT, with multiple courses and certifications lined up in the future. Shane works at both our Beaches and South Rehabilitation facilities.
In his free time, Shane enjoys traveling to different surf and winter snowboard destinations. He also scuba dives and has a passion for any fun outdoor adventure.
