Revision Total Knee Replacement Procedure
During the procedure your orthopedic surgeon will assess what components from the original surgery need to be removed. First, the implants are inspected, and the damaged ones removed. Then, the surgeon will prepare the bone surface for the revision of the implant. In some cases, a bone graft may be used to help rebuild the knee. Once the implant has been placed in your knee, the doctor will be able to test the motion of the joint.
Revision Total Knee Replacement Recovery
When beginning the recovery process for your revision there are a few different options that could be combined such as pain management and physical therapy. During physical therapy, your physical therapist will monitor your progress with things such as range of motion, strength, and balance.
