This JOI Rehab Staff Page is dedicated to the JOI Rehab Staff members at all 13 of our locations. We are so proud of our front desk and clinical staff members. Our goal to provide excellent customer service and the highest level of quality care in our centers.
A large portion of the content on our website is provided by JOI Rehab Clinicians. Our goal is to provide you with the information to prevent injuries. We also want to give you the information that you need to make good decision about your health and wellbeing. JOI Rehab
The JOI Rehabilitation Center’s offers an array of therapy options across 13 convenient locations throughout Northeast Florida. JOI is very proud of our highly dedicated staff of Physical Therapists, Physical Therapy Assistants, Occupational Therapists, Massage Therapists and Certified Athletic Trainers. Working together to provide comprehensive and conservative care to every patient. In addition to physical and occupational therapy services, JOI has added the Spine Centers and the Sports Center.

Mikel Betancourt, PTA

Mikel was born in Connecticut and moved to Jacksonville when he was 10 years old. He has been with JOI Rehab since 2017. He started out as a front desk/intake coordinator for the Beaches rehab location. He then transferred to San Marco rehab as a PT tech in 2019 while attending the PTA program at Concorde Career Institute. Mikel graduated from his PTA program in March of 2021 and immediately started as a PTA for the San Marco and Arlington rehab locations. He is now full-time at the Arlington location. Chad Evans has been a licensed physical therapist since 1999. He has worked in a variety of outpatient settings. He is an original member of the JOI rehab team. Since 2009 he has been the Site Coordinator for JOI Rehab University Physical Therapy Office and has now transitioned to being the Site Coordinator at JOI’s Arlington office. He continues to stay up-to-date with the latest in orthopedic care while rooting for the Gators and Jags.

Katie Trumble, PT, DPT, ATC
Prior to joining JOI, Katie Trumble managed an outpatient clinic. She worked with people with various orthopedic conditions and helped with local high school athletics. She has worked in the outpatient setting since graduating from the University of St. Augustine, where she focused on manual therapeutic techniques and sports medicine.
In addition to treating patients at the Arlington rehab office, Katie Trumble is currently providing physical therapy treatment for the student-athletes at JU. She found her passion for physical therapy while playing soccer in high school, club, and collegiately. Katie still enjoys running, yoga, and Jaguars football. She is interested in pursuing certifications in manual therapy and orthopedic specialist.

Daniel Brady, PT, DPT
Daniel Brady is a New Jersey native. He graduated from Rider University in 2013 where he was a member of the Swimming and Diving team. Daniel graduated with a Bachelor’s in Behavioral Neuroscience. He went on to pursue his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from The University of Florida and graduated in 2017.
Daniel fulfilled multiple internships while at the University of Florida, including an outpatient sports rotation at the Texas Metroplex Institute where he had the opportunity to work with athletes of all age ranges and gained a strong interest for outpatient orthopedics. He is excited to be part of the JOI team. Dan currently is the Front Desk Manager and a physical therapist at the JOI Rehab San Marco Clinic.

Haydee Cavoores, Front Desk
Intake Coordinator/ Front Desk
Haydee Cavoores, is one of our intake coordinators at the front desk at JOI Rehab South Physical Therapy Clinic. JOI South is located on the Baptist South Medical Office Building 3 on the 2nd floor. This location offers custom hand therapy, traditional physical therapy with a specialized spine center and spine therapist.
Chang Chau, OT

Chang Chau is a Jacksonville native who graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of St. Augustine in 2015 with a Master of Occupational Therapy degree. During his clinical internships, he treated both traumatic and non-traumatic brain injury patients at Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital. Further, he placed special emphasis on upper extremity orthopedics at the Malcolm Randall VA Medical Center.
Further, Chang Chau graduated from the University of North Florida with a B.S. in Health and Exercise Science and is a Certified Exercise Physiologist. He is currently working towards obtaining his Certification in Hand Therapy. Go Jags!

Bridget Bigale, PTA, Site Coordinator

Bridget Carey has been a practicing physical therapist assistant here at JOI since November 2017. She was born and raised here in Jacksonville where she attended Duncan U. Fletcher High School. She then went onto West Virginia University. Further, she walked onto the Varsity Volleyball team and competed in the Big East as a Libero/ Defensive Specialist.
Bridget Carey then went on to transfer to the University of Central Florida where she completed her Bachelors in Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She found her love for the field of Physical Therapy during her last semester at UCF while working with patients in the Aphasia House where she was given the opportunity to be apart of the rehabilitation of patients that were affected by TBI, stroke, and other neurological deficits. Further, she then attended the PTA program at FSCJ and graduated in August of 2017. In her free time she enjoys playing beach volleyball, riding her beach cruiser, and playing with her two dachshunds.

Tim Burkhart’s experience includes personal training, strength and conditioning for the Orlando Magic, spinal cord/traumatic brain injury rehab, home health, and outpatient orthopaedic physical therapy. He has been with JOI since February 2005.

Cameron Delicato has worked at Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute since 2013 as a Rehabilitation Technician at the San Marco Rehab Office. After completing his PTA program he relocated to the JOI Rehab Beaches Office.
Lauren Driscoll Fater, OTR/L
Lauren Driscoll Fater
Lauren Driscoll Fater grew up in Cooper City, FL and moved to Jacksonville Beach about a year and a half ago. Lauren was a collegiate swimmer for the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where she pursued a degree in Therapeutic Recreation. She is also a 3x Olympic trial qualifier in swimming (2008, 2012, 2016). It wasn’t long before she decided to go back to school to pursue a master’s degree in Occupational Therapy. She is currently studying for her hand therapy certification (CHT). When she is not at work, she is enjoying the outdoors and hanging out with her family. You can find Lauren treating patients at JOI Rehab’s South location.

Meghan Dunn, PT, DPT, ATC

Meghan Dunn has been with the Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute Rehabilitation team since 2008. She enjoys working in the outpatient orthopaedic setting and is certified in the Graston technique for soft tissue mobilization. In her free time, Meghan enjoys spending time with her family, cooking and the beach.
Derek Heiser, PT, DPT

Derek Heiser graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Florida State University in 2012. He then went on to obtain his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine in 2015, with a focus on manual therapy. Derek worked as a travel PT for 5.5 years, working in a variety of outpatient and home health settings across the country. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, camping, and spending time on the beach with friends and family.

Kurtis (Kurt) Mullaney is a native of Jacksonville who graduated from Bishop Kenny High School. He received his Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2012 while playing baseball for the Eagles. He received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2015 from FGCU. Kurt has been practicing in predominantly outpatient orthopedics and sports medicine for 5 years. Before joining the JOI Beaches Rehab team, he spent 3.5 years at our San Marco office and 1.5 years as a traveling physical therapist in several private practice physical therapy clinics throughout Arizona and California. He enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, and being on the water. He is passionate about health and fitness and is a huge Jacksonville Jaguars fan.

Jennifer Neuenfeldt was born and raised in the Jacksonville beaches area. While studying there she spent many hours volunteering in a hand clinic where she found her passion. Jen has now been with JOI for over a year with a focus in upper extremity treatment. Jen looks forward to many years with the organization. She currently works at the JOI Rehab Beaches Clinic.
Clinton Barton
Clint Barton, DME JOI Beaches
Clinton Barton was born and raised in rural East Texas. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served for over 20 years as a Hospital Corpsman. He plans to finish his degree in Health Sciences with a goal to become a Physician Assistant. Clint joined the JOI Rehab Beaches office as their DME specialist in September of 2022.

Samantha Jackson, Front Desk Specialist
Samantha Jackson has been in customer service for ten years, and she is excited to be working with JOI! Being a former dancer for many years, Samantha has worked with Physical Therapists before, and it helped tremendously. As a result, she is happy to be a part of a team who are able to help others with their pain. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her dog, going on walks, or going to the beach with him. She is also now the proud owner of her own business and is excited for the opportunity. Samantha can be found assisting patients at the Beaches Rehab location.
Madison Murrow, Front Desk Specialist
Madison Murrow has lived in Jacksonville, FL for over 10 years. She graduated from First Coast High School in 2020. She then went to Keiser University to receive her Associates of Science in Medical Administrative Billing and Coding. In her free time, Madison enjoys watching NASCAR, hockey and baseball. She has a Catahoula puppy at home who she loves spending time with. She enjoys travelling, and her favorite place to go is the mountains. Madison is currently assisting patients at the JOI Rehab, Beaches location.

Terri has experience in multiple setting including UE orthopedics , pediatrics, and general inpatient rehabilitation specializing in spinal cord injuries. Terri has been an active military spouse for 26 yrs. Completed the AOTA Fieldwork Educator Certification Program(FWECP) and Graston Certification.

Carissa Aquino, PT, DPT, ATC/L, graduated from the University of North Florida in 2016 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training. Following graduation, she worked as a certified athletic trainer for 3 years. During this time, she served the middle and high school student athletes of Clay County. She then decided to pursue a career in physical therapy and received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in 2022. Carissa enjoys being in the orthopedic setting, working with the geriatric population, and utilizing manual therapy. She is currently treating patients at the JOI Rehab office in Fleming Island.

Lisa received her Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from Duquesne University (Pittsburgh, PA) in 2007. She continued on to earn a Masters degree in Exercise Science. She did this while working as a Graduate Intern at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, where she was the Athletic Trainer for the Men’s Football, Wrestling, and Women’s Softball teams. After moving to Florida, Lisa worked as the Head Athletic Trainer at Flagler Palm Coast High School in Palm Coast, FL. Lisa joined JOI in July of 2012.
Lisa currently works in the clinical setting at the JOI Rehab Fleming Island Clinic.
Ryan Darragh, PT, DPT
Ryan graduated with his undergraduate degree in Athletic Training from Florida State University in 2014, working rotations with their Football, Baseball, Women’s Soccer, and Men’s basketball teams during his tenure as an athletic training student. Ryan went on to graduate with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Florida International University in Miami, Florida in 2017. He is GRASTON technique certified. Ryan enjoys spending time with his family, going to the beach, and playing sports with friends. Ryan currently works at the JOI Rehab Fleming Island Physical Therapy Clinic.

Justin Delicato has worked at Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute since 2008 as a Rehabilitation Technician at the San Marco Rehab Office. After completing his PTA program, he relocated to the Fleming Island Office. Justin took on the role of site coordinator in 2016.
Courtney Laymon, PTA
Courtney is from Orange Park, FL and became a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in 2017 graduating from Iowa Western. She has a bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences from Bellevue University. Courtney is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of St Augustine. She has experience in both outpatient and skilled nursing settings. She loves working with a variety of diagnoses including orthopedics, neurological injury/disease, sports rehab, and pediatrics.
Outside of work Courtney enjoys cooking, watching movies, and going on airplane flights with her personal pilot and husband, Kalen.
Amberly Bell, Intake Coordinator
Amberly was born in Jacksonville and raised in North Texas. She just moved back to Jacksonville and has spent 8 years working in childcare. Amberly is currently aspiring to be a radiologist. She joined the JOI Rehab Fleming Island team in 2021 as an intake coordinator.
Yasmine Resto, Front Desk Specialist
Yasmine was born and raised in Florida. Family is very important to her. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and being outside enjoying gardening or the beaches. Before coming to JOI, Yasmine spent 5 years working at an assisted living facility.
Makayla Sterner, Front Desk Specialist
Makayla was born and raised in Florida and developed a deep appreciation for its natural beauty and warm weather. Family is extremely important to her. She is blessed to have a loving and supportive husband and son. You can often find Makayla at the baseball fields cheering on her son from the bleachers.
Makalya has over 10 years in customer service roles, where she has been able to combine her natural empathy with her strong communication and organizational skills. She takes pride in going above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. She is currently assisting patients at our Fleming Island location.

Johnny Barthel, OT, CHT
Johnny is an Occupational Therapist with more than 12 years of experience. While at Samford University, he played football. Since finishing school, he has worked in a variety of settings. While in the outpatient setting, Johnny found a love for hand therapy and pursued his hand certification. Currently, he works as a CHT at the JOI Mandarin Clinic where he focuses on upper extremity rehabilitation.

Jared Ernest has been practicing as a licensed physical therapist for 20 years with a focus on sport and orthopedic rehabilitation. Jared was the manager of the Point Meadows clinic for many years. He now is at our JOI Rehab Mandarin Clinic as a clinician.
Kat Estrada, PTA

Kat Estrada is originally from Naples, Florida and graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Family, Youth, and Community Sciences in 2015. Afterwards, she moved to Jacksonville, FL and became a licensed PTA in the fall of 2022 after attending the PTA program at Florida State College at Jacksonville. Kat is currently a float PTA for JOI and helps with coverage at all of our locations. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling, and hanging out with friends and family. Kat is also passionate about CrossFit and coaches in her spare time.

Amanda Garland currently works in the outpatient physical therapy setting. Amanda also works with local high school athletic teams and injured players in the clinic. She has been employed with JOI since 2006. Amanda is a physical therapist and a certified athletic trainer at the JOI Rehab Mandarin location.
Charslesetta Johnson, Site Coordinator
Charslesetta Johnson has been working in the Physical Therapy industry for over 19 years. She has been with Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute Rehabilitation for the last 13 years. Charlesetta has held several positions over the past 13 years and is currently the Site Coordinator at our Mandarin Rehabilitation Clinic, Supervisor of our Rehab Data Entry Dept., and our Clinical Coordinator for student interns.
Belinda Kirkland, DPT CHT ATC
Belinda Kirkland has been a practicing Physical Therapist for 31 years. She specializes in Hand and Upper Extremity Rehab and Pain Management utilizing Dolphin Neurostim. She became a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) in 1996, and a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) in 1998. She served as the Head Athletic Trainer and Physical Therapist for the Roar of the Jaguars Professional Cheer Squad from 1998 to 2020. She joined the JOI Rehab staff in 2008 at the Mandarin facility opening.

Trina McDonald, Data Entry
Trina Mcdonald has been with JOI since 2016. She loves to make people smile and feel welcome. Trina currently works in the JOI Rehab Mandarin Physical Therapy Clinic. She is part of the data entry team for all of the 12 JOI Rehab Clinics in the area.

Ron Salazar has over 15 years of experience of working in an outpatient orthopaedic setting, where he focuses on spine rehab, sports physical therapy, and manual therapy techniques. Jennifer Stewartz, Occupational Therapist
Prior to joining JOI, Jennifer Stewartz, OT worked at an outpatient clinic, working with various upper extremity orthopaedic conditions. She has worked in the outpatient setting since graduating from the University of St. Augustine. Jennifer found her passion for hand therapy in 2016 upon completing observation hours in this setting. She is also interested in becoming a certified wound specialist and certified hand therapist in the future. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, nature, hiking, kayaking, art, and spending time with her family. She is currently treating patients at the Mandarin Rehab clinic.
Sonya Thigpen, ATC

For the past seven years, Sonya Thigpen has worked in outpatient orthopaedic rehabilitation. Sonya has been with JOI Rehab since the first clinic opened in 2003. She is actively involved in the JOI Sports Medicine Program. She serves as an assistant sports medicine director. Sonya Thigpen also helps with sports medicine coverage at the high school and collegiate level.
Sonya also works closely with the Jacksonville Juniors Volleyball Association (JJVA), helping to provide sports medicine coverage for all of their home tournaments.
Diane Carter, Front Desk
Diane Carter has worked in the physical therapy industry since 2002 and been with JOI since 2005. She has worked at several JOI Rehab locations. Diane enjoys taking trips to Disney and spending time with her granddaughter.

Pam Luh has been with JOI since 2006 and has worked at several JOI Rehab locations. She enjoys spending time with her grandkids and going on cruises.

Amelia Son PTA

Amelia Son graduated from the University of South Florida with her Bachelors of Arts in Dance Studies. There she combined her dance education with her future interests in physical therapy by presenting a dissertation on “Physical Therapy in Dance”. After graduation, Amelia received her Associate in Science in Physical Therapist Assistant from Florida State College at Jacksonville. Amelia then furthered her education by receiving her Masters in Healthcare Administration from Purdue University Global. In the evenings, Amelia teaches ballet at Royal Amelia Dance Academy and choreographs and performs with local community theaters.

Stacey Foley graduated from the University of St. Augustine in 2012 with her doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. She has a passion for treating orthopedic injuries and those recovering from surgery. She has also taken advanced classes in manual therapy techniques and dry needling to better treat her patients. Stacey is an LSVT BIG certified therapist as well, to help patients with Parkinson’s to improve their quality of movement and balance. In her spare time she enjoys running, gardening, spending time with friends and family, and traveling. She is currently a therapist and Site Coordinator at the Nassau Rehab location.

Laura graduated with honors from University of Illinois at Chicago in 1988. She has spent her career focusing on orthopedic upper extremity rehabilitation. Laura became a Certified Hand Therapist in 1993. Since that time she has taken many opportunities to further her education. She’s done this through continuing education, membership in professional organizations such as American Society of Hand Therapist, hand study groups and further certifications such as; Graston soft tissue technique, kinesio taping, LSVT BIG.
Laura takes a hands on approach to therapy. Her goal is to achieve the highest level of function for her clients. Throughout her career Laura has always worked closely with the hand surgeons she works with to provide the best care for her clients through good communication regarding diagnosis and treatment options.

Steve Borkowski PT, MPT, MTC, CEAS

While at the University of Florida, Steve Borkowski had the opportunity to assist with treatment of Division I collegiate athletes. He worked with a variety of sports and professional athletes in the National Football League (NFL). He has provided physical therapy services for the touring companies of several Broadway shows including Wicked, Les Misérables, and Book of Mormon. Steve also served as a physical therapist for the Atlanta Falcons (NFL) and Georgia Force (AFL) cheerleading squads. He has treated Ironman and ITU World Championship triathletes, and has been a member of various high school sports medicine teams. Steve obtained his Manual Therapy Certification from the University of St. Augustine and brings his interest in manual therapy and sports medicine to our clinic. He currently is a physical therapist at the JOI Rehab Beaches clinic.

George Dudziec, DPT moved to Jacksonville in 2016 from Fort Lauderdale. Through undergrad schooling, George worked as a personal trainer before gravitating toward the physical therapy profession. Since graduating with his doctoral degree in physical therapy, he has mostly focused on orthopedic rehab. He enjoys treating a variety of diagnoses, and likes when a patient has specific goals or activities that they really want to return to. Justin Carmel is a graduate from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences with a specific focus in manual therapy. During his clinical experiences, he treated a wide range of sports and orthopaedic injuries and had the opportunity to work directly with various collegiate and professional athletes.
Prior to becoming a Physical Therapist, Justin graduated from the University of Cincinnati, with a Bachelors of Business Administration. He worked as a Sales/Marketing Manager for an International Manufacturing Supplier. Justin has a passion for therapeutic exercise program design/implementation, functional movement analysis, and sports injury prevention.
He is currently working towards obtaining his Manual Therapy Certification from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. He plans to further his knowledge of functional movement analysis/sports injury prevention by pursuing a Functional Movement Systems Certification. Fadel Taazieh is a graduate of University of North Florida in 2012 with BS in Athletic Training. He then went to the University of St Augustine to get a Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2014. Fadel’s interests are sports-related injuries and are pursuing further certification with manual therapy.
Fadel practiced Taekwondo for 14 years to receive a 3rd black belt. He has an extensive background in martial arts. Fadel also participates in extreme martial arts for several years. He has a great understanding of acrobatic stunts. Fadel’s other interests include watching football, music, and fitness. He welcomes new patients at our Point Meadows Clinic.

Justin is a practicing Athletic Trainer with 21 years of professional experience. He is a sports medicine expert having worked 18 years with professional football teams. He spent 13 seasons as an Associate Athletic Trainer with the Jacksonville Jaguars, two seasons with the New York Giants, and most recently, one season as Head Athletic Trainer for the XFL Vegas Vipers. Special skills include advanced manual therapy techniques, injury prevention, corrective exercise specialist and performance enhancement specialist, high level sports performance, and return to sport activities. He is currently treating patients at the San Marco Rehab office and staying busy as the Head Athletic Trainer for the Jacksonville Sharks.

Patrick Driscoll received his Bachelors in Athletic Training at Salisbury University, 2016. He went on to obtain his Masters in Athletic Leadership at Clemson University, 2019.
Work Experience
Patrick completed internships with The Baltimore Ravens, Atlanta Braves, and the New Orleans Saints. Prior to him coming to JOI Rehab, he was the first assistant athletic trainer with the football program at Georgia Tech.

Michelle Duclos gained valuable experience at UF by working with the volleyball and football teams. Further, she later interned at the University of South Florida. She also worked with the football team, which was invited to the Meineke Car Care Bowl, the first bowl game in USF history.
While at USF, she worked mainly with the Women’s volleyball team, and helped to cover the NCAA Women’s Final Four in 2008. She also helped cover the NCAA Men’s First and Second Rounds hosted in Tampa. Further, Michelle Duclos helped host the Big East Tennis and Baseball Tournaments in 2008. She came to JOI in 2008. She is presently the athletic trainer for events and practices at Florida State College at Jacksonville. Michelle also serves as the Sports Medicine Director.

While at Valpo, Katelyn had the opportunity to work with the women’s soccer team and track and field teams. She has outpatient experience working with a variety of orthopedic conditions, as well as neurological conditions. She is now working towards getting her certification in hand therapy.

Drew joined the rehabilitation team in 2004. In 2009, he became the Site Coordinator of JOI’s largest rehabilitation facility, San Marco. He served as a clinical liaison between JOI Rehab sites and JOI physicians. With the goal to sustain consistent and exceptional patient care and to ensure that current staff is given educational opportunities to develop and enhance clinical skills. He currently serves in a managerial capacity as Assistant Administrator for JOI Rehabilitation.
Drew completed athletic training internships with the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars and the USAT National Triathlon Training Center. He has attended numerous clinical training and education events around the country. He has been an adjunct professor with the University of North Florida Athletic Training Program. Drew also serves on the advisory boards for local physical therapy and physical therapy assistant programs. He was part of the clinical research for the United States Tennis Association. Working with their wheelchair and adaptive sports division. In his clinical time, Drew enjoys working with elite and amateur athletes of all types. Finally, he has a special interest in endurance sports, including running, cycling, Crossfit and multisport.

Natalie is originally from Wichita, KS. She graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training at Wichita State University in 2020. After undergrad, she went to Southeastern Louisiana University where she obtained her Masters in Health Science and Kinesiology. Natalie gained experience working as a graduate assistant with Track and Field, Cross Country, Football, and Softball at SLU. Next, she spent a year with the Jacksonville Jaguars working as a seasonal intern before coming to JOI. Natalie works at JOI San Marco location as well as outreach to Bolles Middle School.

Ken Kaczka is a licensed doctor of physical therapy in the state of Florida. He is also a member of the (APTA) American Physical Therapy Association. He has diverse clinical experience evaluating and treating patients in a variety of settings. His experience includes Outpatient Orthopedic, Sports Medicine, and Sub-acute Inpatient Rehabilitation for spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, and other neurological diagnoses. Matt was also Head Athletic Trainer for Bishop Kenny High School from 1999 to 2005. He specializes in throwing and running biomechanics, foot orthotics fabrication, biomechanical analysis (throwing, running), and soft tissue mobilization using the Graston Technique (Level II trained). Currently, Matt is the Site Coordinator of JOI Rehabilitation – San Marco office.

Bret Spoehr is from Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. He began his love and study of human motion through mixed martial arts at the age of eight, and still trains every week. That love lead him to studying Exercise Science at FSU, and then to FAMU for their Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Since graduating in 2013, he has worked as a Physical Therapist in Skilled Nursing, Inpatient, Outpatient, and Home Health. Now he is thrilled to be working in the Outpatient setting again with JOI and furthering his practice with our staff of experienced and skilled clinicians. Outside of work, Bret is a dedicated gamer, casual mixed martial artist, and full time father of two wonderful children. Bret is currently assisting patients at our San Marco Rehab location.

Katie was born and raised in Jacksonville and graduated from Providence High School in 2012. Katie recently graduated with her Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) in 2022 from Jacksonville University and was awarded the Brooks Rehabilitation College of Healthcare Sciences Student of the Year. Prior to pursuing her doctorate in occupational therapy, she obtained her B.S. in Exercise Physiology from UNF. Katie was a Certified Exercise Physiologist for nearly 10 years and worked as a personal trainer at the local YMCA. She also worked as a rehab technician and coordinator at Brooks Rehab skilled nursing facility. She has experience working with orthopedic, neurological, and medically complex conditions. Katie currently teaches part-time as an OTD adjunct professor at Jacksonville University and practices at the San Marco and South location, pursuing her certification in hand therapy.
Lauren Vick, PT, DPT
Lauren Vick is originally from the metro-Atlanta area. She went to Kennesaw State University and received her B.S in Exercise Science. She then attended the University of South Florida for her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Lauren moved to North Carolina after graduating and practiced in outpatient orthopedics for 2 years before moving back to Florida. She is certified in vestibular and concussion rehabilitation. Lauren is currently treating patients at our San Marco Rehab location.
Sarah Carioti, PT Tech
Sarah Carioti is a Jacksonville Native. She graduated in 2020 from Spruce Creek High School in Port Orange, Florida. She is currently in her last semester at the University of North Florida studying kinesiology. She plans on obtaining a second degree in marketing with a minor in digital marketing and analytics and a master’s in nutrition and dietetics, also at UNF, to educate adolescents about nutrition that appeals to their demographic. In her free time, Sarah enjoys running on the beach or being outside. Otherwise, you’ll find Sarah at book club with her friends or reading fantasy novels at her local coffee shop.

Sean Rogers is a Jacksonville native. He graduated from A. Philip Randolph Career Highschool and studied Criminal Justice. Sean then moved to Virginia for a brief time for college, where he decided to switch from Criminal Law to Physical Therapy and moved back home. He is currently in school at FSCJ where he is studying for his Associate of Science in Physical Therapy Assistant. In his free time, Sean enjoys doing Crossfit. Brooke Arrendale, Marketing Liaison
Brooke has had many different roles at JOI since starting in 2006. She started out working Front Desk and Intake at the Beaches Rehab location. She then moved to South Rehab to be the Site Coordinator. Her last position as a floating Intake Trainer allowed her to interact with staff and patients at all the rehab clinics. However, she is excited to begin her newest endeavor as Marketing Liaison for JOI and JOI Rehab! Her history and knowledge of the company will be beneficial in creating and maintaining JOI’s many partnerships around Jacksonville.
Brooke hails from Georgia and loves college football, travelling, and doing anything artistic. But her pride and joy is her ridiculously handsome dog, Goose.

Holly Martin is from Ohio, but has lived in Jacksonville, Florida for the last 14 years. She has always loved sports, especially tennis and baseball, with her favorite baseball team being the Cincinnati Reds. Holly has many hobbies, but her favorite hobby is reading. She loves to escape into a good book on her time off and over the weekends. She also loves traveling with her fiancé and their German Shephard. She recently completed her Bachelor of Science in Public Health and hopes to one day be a Nutritionist. Anjonnet Pancho, mostly known as AJ, has been part of the Jacksonville community since 2010 and joined the JOI team in October, 2023. She enjoys spending her free time hanging out with her pets, looking at her pets, and cuddling with her pets. She also appreciates being around her friends and families while indulging in sweet treats. You can find AJ assisting patients at the front desk of our San Marco Rehab location.

Kalie has lived in Jacksonville almost her entire life. She briefly moved to State College, PA to attend Penn State before moving back to Jacksonville in 2019. In her free time Kalie enjoys reading and baking. She is currently assisting patients at our San Marco location.

John Alexander, OTR/L
John Alexander is originally from Crystal River, Florida and graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences. Afterwards, he moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 2021 and graduated with honors from the University of St. Augustine with a Master of Occupational Therapy degree in 2022. John is currently working towards obtaining his certified hand therapist license. He loves spending time outdoors, following University of Florida athletics, and serving in his church and community. John can be found assisting patients at our JOI Rehab Beaches office.

Luke Bratton ATC
Luke Bratton, Certified Athletic Trainer
Luke Bratton is a graduate from the University of North Florida with a major in Athletic Training. Further, his clinical experience includes Division-I athletics with the UNF softball and soccer team. He was also part of the Sports Medicine staff for Jacksonville University Football. Further, he is currently the Athletic Trainer for Fernandina Beach High School Athletics, providing sports medicine coverage for practices and games.
Luke focuses his treatment based on a combination of manual therapy and therapeutic exercises to build strength, stability and improve ROM. He enjoys playing beach volleyball, kayaking, swimming, and playing guitar. Luke is now the ATC for Bishop Kenny High School.

Allan Fiesta, PT, Site Coordinator
Allan Fiesta graduated with a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from the University of the City of Manila (Philippines) in 2000. He obtained his transitional doctorate degree in physical therapy with high honors from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences (2017) in St. Augustine, Florida. Further, all has worked in various clinical settings which include long-term care, home health, acute care and outpatient settings.
He has been with JOI since 2013 and started working as the spine physical therapist at the JOI South Clinic – Spine Center since 2014. He is a board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS). Further, he is a current member of the Orthopedic Section of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). Allan Fiesta is also a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy (AAOMPT). Further, his area of interest includes the use of manual therapy techniques in the cervical and lumbar spine. He is currently working towards obtaining his manual therapy certification through the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences.

Sarah Katsaras graduated from FSU with Bachelor’s of Science in Biology in 1994. Earned Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from University of St. Augustine in 1999. Sarah continues to work as a physical therapist for several years She opened the JOI Spine Center in 2011 and has been coordinating the Spine Club meetings for 6 years. She also earned her OCS certification in 2011. Sarah currently works at the JOI Rehab South Physical Therapy Clinic.

Heather Lopez, OTR/L, CHT is an occupational therapist with 20 plus years of experience treating upper extremity orthopedic injuries. Further, she has her hand certification in 2006. Heather works closely with the JOI surgeons to help her patients reach their functional goals. Further, she continues to enjoy working with her colleagues in a team approach atmosphere. Heather works at the JOI Rehab South Physical Therapy Clinic.

Pat McIntire works at JOI Rehab Baptist South Rehabilitation Center. She enjoys working with the rehab staff members and helping patients to get better.
She has worked for JOI Rehab for several years as an intake coordinator and receptionist.

For the past seven years, Tiffany Patterson has worked in an outpatient orthopaedic setting, where she concentrates on hand and upper extremity rehabilitation. In 2007, she became a Certified Hand Therapist. Further, Tiffany has been working with JOI Rehabilitation since 2006. She currently works at the JOI Rehab South Physical Therapy Center
Katie Stallings, OTD, OTR/L

Katie was born and raised in Jacksonville and graduated from Providence High School in 2012. Katie recently graduated with her Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) in 2022 from Jacksonville University and was awarded the Brooks Rehabilitation College of Healthcare Sciences Student of the Year. Prior to pursuing her doctorate in occupational therapy, she obtained her B.S. in Exercise Physiology from UNF. Katie was a Certified Exercise Physiologist for nearly 10 years and worked as a personal trainer at the local YMCA. She also worked as a rehab technician and coordinator at Brooks Rehab skilled nursing facility. She has experience working with orthopedic, neurological, and medically complex conditions. Katie currently teaches part-time as an OTD adjunct professor at Jacksonville University and practices at the San Marco and South location, pursuing her certification in hand therapy.

Before coming to Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute, Tracy Wilcox worked with teams at UAB and North Georgia College. Tracy graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Athletic Training in 2005. Further, she completed her degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant from Florida State College of Jacksonville in 2015. Tracy Wilcox enjoys working in outpatient orthopedics and has spent time with a variety of sports teams. Tracy has been with JOI since 2010.

Drew is from Greenville, SC but has been in Florida for 4 years now. He attended Clemson University and graduated with his Bachelors in Nutrition and Dietetics. He then went on to receive his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. When he is not at work, Drew enjoys watching football, taking his dog Tucker to the park, or finding new spots to grab a bite to eat. He has a passion for physical therapy and looks forward to helping you achieve your goals!

Kjersti Olsen, Front Desk Specialist
Kjersti Olsen was born and raised in Western Kansas. After earning her Masters in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kansas, she fulfilled her lifelong dream of moving to Florida to be close to the water and sunshine, while working with disadvantaged youth. Kjersti enjoys traveling, having lived in Greece for a time, and enjoys traveling internationally and domestically as much as possible. Her hobbies include dancing, singing, gardening, and cooking. She also enjoys watching the Seattle Seahawks and Kansas City Royals. Kjersti is enjoying working at JOI Rehab while searching for the next adventure. She is currently assisting patients at the JOI Rehab Beaches office.

Patrick Driscoll ATC – Site Coordinator
Patrick Driscoll, Certified Athletic Trainer
Patrick Driscoll received his Bachelors in Athletic Training at Salisbury University, 2016. He went on to obtain his Masters in Athletic Leadership at Clemson University, 2019.
Work Experience
Patrick completed internships with The Baltimore Ravens, Atlanta Braves, and the New Orleans Saints. Prior to him coming to JOI Rehab, he was the first assistant athletic trainer with the football program at Georgia Tech.
He enjoys spending his free time with his wife, Devin as well as his dog Sonny.

Dawn Wojdat has worked in the Physical Therapy/Rehabilitation setting for 12 years. She has been with Jacksonville Orthopedic Institute for the past 6 years. She also served as the Internal Auditor for JOI Rehab for several years. Dawn is now the Intake Coordinator for Dr. Yorio.

Ken Kaczka is a licensed doctor of physical therapy in the state of Florida. He is also a member of the (APTA) American Physical Therapy Association. He has diverse clinical experience evaluating and treating patients in a variety of settings. His experience includes Outpatient Orthopedic, Sports Medicine, and Sub-acute Inpatient Rehabilitation for spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, and other neurological diagnoses. He has taken advanced course work and developed specialty skills in manual therapy. He is currently practicing at the San Marco and World Golf Village rehab locations.
Courtney Laymon, PTA
Courtney is from Orange Park, FL and became a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in 2017 graduating from Iowa Western. She has a bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences from Bellevue University. Courtney is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of St Augustine. She has experience in both outpatient and skilled nursing settings. She loves working with a variety of diagnoses including orthopedics, neurological injury/disease, sports rehab, and pediatrics.
Outside of work Courtney enjoys cooking, watching movies, and going on airplane flights with her personal pilot and husband, Kalen.

Chris Markham earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine in 2008. Chris has 13 years of experience in outpatient Physical Therapy with a focus on sports and post-operative therapies. He is also certified in Dry Needling and enjoys helping people reach their goals through various PT methods. Chris recently relocated to the Jacksonville area from Memphis, TN and is a Physical Therapist at the World Golf Village clinic. In his free time, Chris enjoys playing and watching sports with his wife and two children. He also enjoys working in his yard, grilling, spending time with friends and family, and getting out on the water.

Genesis Villanueva has practiced in a variety of Rehab settings from Acute/Sub-acute care to Home Health Physical Therapy. He is the site coordinator for the JOI Rehab Golf Village Center.
