Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute Rehabilitation
Whether you are suffering from back issues (sciatica, scoliosis, or lower back pain), joint pain (rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis) or injuries resulting from athletic activity (plantar fasciitis, tendonitis, knee pain), JOI has 12 physical therapy clinics conveniently located in Jacksonville and Northeast FL who specialize in orthopedic rehab. We can accept patients with a prescription for physical therapy from any physician! Please watch this patient testimonial from Barbara.
Additionally, if you are looking to get the independence you had before your injury, we offer Occupational Therapy through one of our fully licensed Occupational Therapists (OT). Our OT’s work in conjunction with our Physical Therapists to help our patients not only recover from their injuries, but return to the daily activities they are used to performing.
Occupational Therapy/Hand Therapy in Jacksonville Fl.
Most of our OT’s are also Certified Hand Therapists (CHT) who specialize in evaluating and treating injuries and conditions of the upper extremity (shoulder, arm, elbow, forearm, wrist, and hand).
A new addition to the JOI family is our Spine Center with two locations in both our San Marco and Baptist South Clinics. If you are experiencing back or neck pain, our experienced Spine Therapists will work directly with your Spine Surgeons and Physiatrists to coordinate your care and provide you with the best treatment possible.
Services offered at our Spine Center include medical laser, medical massage, and acupuncture. Laser therapy has helped many of our patients recover from their injuries in a quicker manner, as our state-of-the-art lasers allow us to get deeper into the tissue and work on the injury on a cellular level.
These cellular changes in mitochondrial activity and cell permeability can result in quicker healing times and decreased pain. Our medical massage technique allows us to decrease muscular tightness, increase circulation in the affected area, and ultimately decrease pain and promote muscular range of motion (ROM).
