Why is it Important to Exercise?
Exercise has been shown to have many health benefits, both physically and mentally. Exercise consists of activity not limited to working out and going to a gym but activity such as walking, running, jogging, swimming, playing a sport, dancing and many more.
Exercise can be 10 minutes to 30 minutes to whatever your heart desires. Overall, exercise is good for the mind, body, and soul.
What are the 10 Benefits of Exercise?
The following below are the 10 benefits of exercise to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
- Weight loss / weight management: Exercising helps decrease caloric intake in which helps us lose weight or maintain our ideal weight.
- Improve joint pain and joint stiffness: By exercising this keeps the joints loose and lubricated thus maintaining the ability to perform functional activity.
- Helps lower blood pressure: Exercising regularly makes your heart stronger. A stronger heart can pump more blood with less effort. As a result, the force on your arteries decreases, thus lowering blood pressure.
- Helps stop or lower the development of diabetes: maintaining a healthier weight by losing body weight will help you to slow or stop the progress of type 2 diabetes.
- Helps decrease stress: Stress can kill you seriously. Be exercising, this can help with putting your mind at ease.
- Helps maintain a healthy immune system: By maintaining a healthy immune system by exercise, your body will be able to fight diseases especially issues such as COVID-19.
- Brings better sleep: The physical exertion you engage in during exercises helps your body’s rhythm keep in tune. Sleeping better at night also improves, in turn, your immune functioning and even lowers your risk for heart disease, diabetes and other issues.
- Helps boost memory: Exercise can help keep the part of the brain that helps store memory in the brain.
- Helps improving breathing: Strong and healthy lungs will help provide more oxygen to the body which will help with healing and especially with recovery especially with strenuous activity.
- Helps keep bones strong and healthy: As we get older in life our bone minerals decrease. By exercising especially strength training you are to stabilize and strengthen joints thus decreasing stress on joints and bones.
How Much Exercise is Healthy?
Experts recommend at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes of vigorous aerobic activity a week, or a combination of both. Greater amounts of exercise will provide even greater health benefit in the long run.

Which Exercise is Best for Students? How Long Should a Student Exercise?
If you are a student either in elementary, high school and college, life can be busy juggling between studies and trying to get some exercises. You’re probably asking yourself how can I get in a workout. But you will be surprised that there a simple as well a quick and effective exercises you can get in.
- Start your day by waking up and taking a brisk walk for 30 minutes outside.
- Instead of taking the elevator to class, take the stairs.
- When studying for a big test or working on a project, take walk around the block, do jumping jacks, or do pushups or watch a quick workout video via You-tube or any fitness app.
Does Exercise Improve Memory?
Exercise boosts your memory and thinking skills both directly and indirectly. It acts directly on the body by stimulating chemical changes such as reductions in insulin resistance and inflammation.
