Fusion of the Cervical Spine
By Ehren Allen, PT
Fusion of the Cervical Spine or Neck Fusion
The Cervical Spine or Neck Fusion fusion is a surgery that fuses two or more neck bones. The bones in the cervical spine are called vertebrae. Several Orthopaedic Spine Specialists perform cervical fusions at the Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute. A Cervical Fusion aims to add space between two vertebrae. It also wants to prevent movement at their spine level. Upon evaluation of patients needing this surgery, they have some instability in the affected area. Therefore, if you have been told that you have instability in your neck and want to learn more about this procedure, please read this article on cervical fusion.

There are also many conservative non-surgical approaches. Therefore, give us a call for the treatment options available at JOI.
