Alex is a Florida native who grew up playing baseball.  He went on to play baseball for Chipola College while earning his A.S. before transferring to the University of Central Florida to focus on his bachelor’s degree.  Alex then decided to attend FSCJ to become a physical therapist assistant.  Since becoming licensed, Alex has clinical experience in outpatient orthopedics, skilled nursing rehab, and balance/vestibular rehabilitation. Alex has been a member of the JOI rehab team since 2018.

Diana has been an Occupational Therapist since 1990 and has worked in a variety of setting including Baptist hospital and JOI.   She is also a Certified Hand Therapist since 2000. She continues to be an asset to this rehabilitation office with her knowledge of the functioning of the hand. Diana is also fluent in Spanish.

Chad has been a licensed physical therapist since 1999.  He has worked in a variety of outpatient settings. He is an original member of the JOI rehab team. Since 2009 he has been the Site Coordinator for JOI’s University office and has now transitioned to being the Site Coordinator at JOI’s Arlington office. For the past 7 years, he has been the team physical therapist for Jacksonville University’s athletic program.  He continues to stay up-to-date with the latest in orthopedic care while rooting for the Gators and Jags.

Prior to joining JOI, Katie managed an outpatient clinic working with people with various orthopedic conditions and helping with local high school athletics. She has worked in the outpatient setting since graduating from the University of St. Augustine, where she focused on manual therapeutic techniques and sports medicine. In addition to treating patients at the Arlington rehab office, Katie is currently providing physical therapy treatment for the student athletes at JU. She found her passion for physical therapy while playing soccer in high school, club, and collegiately, and still enjoys running, yoga, and Jaguars football. She is interested in pursuing certifications in manual therapy and orthopedic specialist.

Micaela grew up in central Florida and attended Jacksonville University on a Division I rowing scholarship. She interned with Jacksonville Orthopedic Institute in 2017 and 2018. Micaela joined the JOI team in 2018 as a Rehabilitation Technician. Micaela is currently working to complete her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy at Jacksonville University. She anticipates to complete her degree in 2021. She enjoys spending time at the beach, running, and spending time with her deaf dog, Orchid.

Linda is along time resident of Jacksonville and graduated from Englewood High school, GO RAMS! Attended FSCJ. She has worked in the Rehabilitation front desk field for approximately 19 years. Linda previously worked for Healthsouth physical therapy. She joined JOI in 2008 and has worked in multiple  JOI rehab locations. Linda received the Jim Harrison Award for Excellence in Customer Service in 2017. She enjoys spending time with her puppy dog Miss Rusty and taking cruises.

Anita is originally from Orlando, Florida and graduated from the University of Central Florida with a B.S. in Health Science. She then graduated with honors from the University of St. Augustine in 2017 with a Master of Occupational Therapy degree. She is currently working toward obtaining her Certification in Hand Therapy.

At the University of Florida he had the opportunity to assist with treatment of Division I collegiate athletes in a variety of sports and professional athletes in the National Football League (NFL). He has been a physical therapist for the touring companies of the Broadway shows Wicked and Shrek the Musical. He also served as a physical therapist for the Atlanta Falcons (NFL) and Georgia Force (AFL) cheerleading squads. Steve has treated Ironman and ITU World Championship triathletes, and has been a member of high school sports medicine teams. Steve joined JOI in 2014 and brings his interest in manual therapy and sports medicine to our clinic.

While at the University of Florida, Steve had the opportunity to assist with treatment of Division I collegiate athletes in a variety of sports and professional athletes in the National Football League (NFL). Tim’s experience includes personal training, strength and conditioning for the Orlando Magic, spinal cord/traumatic brain injury rehab, home health, and outpatient orthopaedic physical therapy. He has been with JOI since February 2005.

Prior to joining to Jacksonville Orthopedic Institute team, Nikki had the opportunity to work with many athletes including the University of Florida Gator Football team in 2006 and 2008. She has a passion for sports and orthopedic injuries. She is currently working towards her manual therapy certification and hopes to sit for her Orthopedic Specialist Boards in the near future.

Meghan has been with the Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute Rehabilitation team since 2008. She enjoys working in the outpatient orthopaedic setting and is certified in the Graston technique for soft tissue mobilization. In her free time, Meghan enjoys spending time with her family, cooking and the beach.

Rachel has been a practicing Physical Therapist Assistant at the JOI Baptist Beaches clinic since 2015. She serves a diverse patient population including joint replacement, sports medicine, and spinal dysfunctions. Rachel is a clinical instructor, mentoring students during their clinical internship. She is also a certified Pilates instructor, which she utilizes in the rehabilitation of patients and transition back to recreational exercise. Rachel loves living in Jacksonville Beach with her husband Michael and their two cats.

Joan worked at Baptist Medical Center in the Health/Wellness/Cardiac Rehab department for nine years. After receiving a second PT degree, she enjoys working in inpatient/outpatient hospital settings, home health, skilled nursing facilities, and outpatient Sports Medicine physical therapy. She is trained in the Graston Technique, Electric Therapy Point System (ETPS), McConnell Taping, Body Balance for Performance Golf Program, and personal fitness programs. Formally with the Aspen Colorado Hospital Physical Therapy Department, Joan joined JOI Beaches Rehab in 2005, and is currently the Senior Physical Therapist.

Jen was born and raised in the Jacksonville beaches area. While studying there she spent many hours volunteering in a hand clinic where she found her passion. Jen has now been with JOI for over a year with a focus in upper extremity treatment. Jen looks forward to many years with the organization.


Melissa Ross

Massage Therapist

She was born in Michigan however military life brought her to Jacksonville in 1985, where she graduated Sandalwood High School.  She returned to Jacksonville in 1995 where she started and raised 3 children. She went back to school after the market crash and graduated Southeastern School of Massage in 2012.  She worked in Chiropractor’s offices most of her career ever since.  JOI performed her back surgery in 2018 and helped her graduate out of rehabilitation through their fantastic physical therapy program.  She joined the JOI family August 2019 as a massage therapist at the Beaches Rehabilitation.  When not at work she enjoys volunteering at various events around Jacksonville, Girl Scout leader for 12yrs. Her hobbies include gardening and photography. It brings her great joy in helping other people achieve wellness and assisting in alleviating muscle soreness through massage.

Brendan is a Certified and Licensed Athletic Trainer. He has worked in numerous high school, college, professional and clinical athletic training settings. Brendan has been a part of athletic events ranging from youth baseball, middle and high school football, all the way up to seniors age men’s lacrosse. He specializes in brace and splint fittings for all areas of the body, as well as a vast diversity of orthopedic conditions. When he is not at work, he spends his free time either fishing, working on various projects at home, or with his family, Great Dane, and his rescued Greyhound.

After graduating, he volunteered with various health clinics and organizations in Clay and Duval County, such as Volunteers in Medicine – Jacksonville and The Way Free Medical Clinic. He has been with JOI since September 2015. Stephen is currently looking in graduate schools to further his education.

Shane Nall is a native of Jacksonville Beach and a local around the beaches community in his 26 years of living. As a graduate of The Florida School of Advanced Bodywork in Jacksonville, formally known as the Southeastern Schools of Neuromuscular Massage, Shane is well versed in Structural Integration Bodywork and Neuromuscular Massage Modalities. His focus is identifying the causative factors of muscular pain and how posture can create and form muscular imbalances that cause structural pain. With a deep understanding in the anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology of the body, Shane uses multiple Medical Massage modalities to treat the pain people experience throughout daily life such as; Neuromuscular Therapy, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release Technique, and Sports Massage.

Massage Therapy and Bodywork is Shane’s passion, he is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) and currently working towards growing as a LMT, with multiple courses and certifications lined up in the future. Shane works at both our Beaches and South Rehabilitation facilities.

In his free time, Shane enjoys traveling to different surf and winter snowboard destinations. He also scuba dives and has a passion for any fun outdoor adventure.

Ashley graduated from the University of North Florida, majoring in Public Health, with a minor in Health Education. Ashley works closely with a non-profit organization that provides free yoga to people with Multiple Sclerosis, oMS Yoga. She has completed training programs in Cross-cultural communication, Clinical Practices for Research, Baptiste Power Yoga, Adaptive Yoga, and Multiple Sclerosis Fitness/Wellness. Ashley has worked for JOI rehab for over three years and hopes to apply for Graduate school in the near future.

Lisa received her Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from Duquesne University (Pittsburgh, PA) in 2007. She continued on to earn a Masters degree in Exercise Science while working as a Graduate Intern at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, where she was the Athletic Trainer for the Men’s Football, Wrestling, and Women’s Softball teams. After moving to Florida, Lisa worked as the Head Athletic Trainer at Flagler Palm Coast High School in Palm Coast, FL. Lisa joined JOI in July of 2012, and is currently the Head Athletic Trainer at Bishop J. Snyder High School, providing medical coverage for all Cardinal student-athletes.

Johnny is an Occupational Therapist with more than 12 years of experience. While at Samford University, he played football. Since finishing school, he has worked in a variety of settings. While in the outpatient setting, Johnny found a love for hand therapy and pursued his hand certification. Currently, he works as a CHT, where he focuses on upper extremity rehabilitation.

Charlesetta has been working in the Physical Therapy industry for over 19 years. She has been with Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute Rehabilitation for the last 13 years. Charlesetta has held several positions over the past 13 years and is currently the Site Coordinator at our Mandarin Rehabilitation Clinic, Supervisor of our Rehab Data Entry Dept., and our Clinical Coordinator for student interns.

She teaches group fitness classes at several local gyms.

For the past seven years Sonya has worked in outpatient orthopaedic rehabilitation and has been with JOI Rehab since the first clinic opened in 2003. She is actively involved in the JOI Sports Medicine Program where she serves as assistant sports medicine director and helps with sports medicine coverage at the high school and collegiate level. Sonya also works closely with the Jacksonville Juniors Volleyball Association (JJVA), helping to provide sports medicine coverage for all of their home tournaments.

Darby graduated from the University of North Florida in the Spring of 2017. She worked with Division I football at Jacksonville University and Division I softball at UNF as well as a few local high schools. She currently works at Fernandina Beach High School as their Head Athletic Trainer. Darby became interested in athletic training growing up as a competitive gymnast and then competing in collegiate cheerleading before entering the Athletic Training Program.

Adam is originally from the Chicago-land Area and moved to Jacksonville shortly after graduate school.  While in PT school Adam fulfilled multiple clinical rotations all over the country, with a special focus on orthopedics and sports medicine. During his final year at the University of Dayton, Adam was able to complete an Independent Study at DePaul University in Chicago working with Division I college athletes. Adam started working at JOI in June 2018 and currently splits his time between the San Marco and Nassau clinics. In his off time Adam enjoys exercising, playing soccer and spending time outside with friends and family.

Laura graduated with honors from University of Illinois at Chicago in 1988. She has spent her career focusing on orthopedic upper extremity rehabilitation. Laura became a Certified Hand Therapist in 1993. Since that time she has taken many opportunities to further her education through continuing education, membership in professional organizations such as American Society of Hand Therapist, hand study groups and further certifications such as; Graston soft tissue technique, kinesio taping, LSVT BIG. Laura takes a hands on approach to therapy and her goal is to achieve the highest level of function for her clients. Throughout her career Laura has always worked closely with the hand surgeons she works with to provide the best care for her clients through good communication regarding diagnosis and treatment options.

Amelia is a recent graduate from Florida State College of Jacksonville. During her clinical experience, Amelia focused on sports and Orthopaedic injuries. Not only did she work with younger athletes, but also had the opportunity to work with older athletes who just “wanted to stay in the game.” Prior to becoming a Physical Therapist Assistant, Amelia attained a Bachelors of Arts in Dance Studies from the University of South Florida and is classically trained in ballet and modern. Upon graduation, Amelia presented a dissertation explaining the benefit of having biannual physical therapy screenings on the students of the dance department. Amelia is looking towards teaching dance again in her spare time and is excited to continue on her journey with JOI.

Liz grew up in Jacksonville, FL and moved to Nashville, TN after high school to get her bachelor’s in Communications from Trevecca Nazarene University.  After graduating, Liz began running and decided to pursue a license as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Liz has worked in outpatient and skilled nursing, and has found her passion in orthopaedic rehab. In her spare time, Liz enjoys spending time with her family and running.

Caitlin is a graduate from Florida International University with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Prior to becoming a Physical Therapist, Caitlin graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science. Caitlin is a Graston Certified Physical Therapist. During her clinical experiences, she treated a variety of orthopaedic injuries with people of all ages and activity levels. Caitlin’s hobbies include triathlons, photography, shooting, and going to the beach.

Demetria earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Texas State University in San Marcos, TX.  She has experience working with the outpatient orthopedic population, as well as with acute care and orthopedic patients post-operatively. She has a strong passion for helping people of all ages and activity levels. Prior to physical therapy school, Demetria earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Marketing from Regis University in Denver, Colorado.

Demetria was born and raised in San Antonio, TX. She danced professionally for the Alamo City Dance Company for 9 years and was captain of the Regis University Rangers dance team in college. Her involvement in dance sparked her interest in the human body and movement, which ultimately led to her pursuing a career in physical therapy.

Alex is a Florida native who grew up playing baseball.  He went on to play baseball for Chipola College while earning his A.S. before transferring to the University of Central Florida to focus on his bachelor’s degree.  Alex then decided to attend FSCJ to become a physical therapist assistant.  Since becoming licensed, Alex has clinical experience in outpatient orthopedics, skilled nursing rehab, and balance/vestibular rehabilitation. Alex has been a member of the JOI rehab team since 2018.

Prior to becoming a Physical Therapist, Justin graduated from the University of Cincinnati, with a Bachelors of Business Administration, and worked as a Sales/Marketing Manager for an International Manufacturing Supplier. Justin has a passion for therapeutic exercise program design/implementation, functional movement analysis, and sports injury prevention. He is currently working towards obtaining his Manual Therapy Certification from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences and plans to further his knowledge of functional movement analysis/sports injury prevention by pursuing a Functional Movement Systems Certification. Justin’s hobbies include cabrewing, whitewater rafting, kayaking, fantasy football, finger painting, zumba, competitive eating, and powerlifting.

Fadel’s interests are sports related injuries and is pursuing further certification with manual therapy. Fadel practiced Taekwondo for 14 years and received a 3rd black belt and has an extensive background in martial arts. Fadel also participated in extreme martial arts for several years and has a great understanding of acrobatic stunts. Fadel’s other interests include watching football, music, and fitness. He welcomes new patients at our Point Meadows Clinic.

He completed his certification as an Orthopedic Manual Therapist in 2007 through the Maitland Australian Physiotherapy Group and currently incorporates manual therapy into the treatment of various orthopedic conditions and injuries.

Daniel is a New Jersey native who graduated from Rider University (2013) with a Bachelor’s in Behavioral Neuroscience, where he  was a member of the Swimming and Diving team. He went on to pursue his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from The University of Florida and graduated in 2017. Daniel fulfilled multiple internships while at the University of Florida, including an outpatient sports rotation at the Texas Metroplex Institute where he had the opportunity to work with athletes of all age ranges and gained a strong interest for outpatient orthopedics. He is excited to be part of the JOI team.

Luke is a graduate from University of North Florida with a major in Athletic Training. His clinical experience includes Division-I athletics with the UNF softball and soccer team. He was also part of the Sports Medicine staff for Jacksonville University Football. He is currently the Athletic Trainer for Fernandina Beach High School Athletics, providing sports medicine coverage for practices and games. Luke focuses his treatment based on a combination of manual therapy and therapeutic exercises to build strength, stability and improve ROM. Luke enjoys playing beach volleyball, kayaking, swimming, and playing guitar.  Luke is now the ATC for the Jacksonville Sharks.

Bridget has been a practicing physical therapist assistant here at JOI since November 2017. She was born and raised here in Jacksonville where she attended Duncan U. Fletcher High School.  She then went onto West Virginia University where she walked onto the Varsity Volleyball team and competed in the Big East as a Libero/ Defensive Specialist.  She then went on to transfer to the University of Central Florida where she completed her Bachelors in Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders.  She found her love for the field of Physical Therapy during her last semester at UCF while working with patients in the Aphasia House where she was given the opportunity to be apart of the rehabilitation of patients that were affected by TBI, stroke, and other neurological deficits. She then attended the PTA program at FSCJ and graduated in August of 2017.  In her free time she enjoys playing beach volleyball, riding her beach cruiser, and playing with her two dachshunds.

During his clinical internships he treated both traumatic and non-traumatic brain injury patients at Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital and placed special emphasis on upper extremity orthopedics at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center. Prior to becoming an Occupational Therapist, Chang graduated from the University of North Florida with a B.S. in Health and Exercise Science and is a Certified Exercise Physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine. Michelle gained valuable experience at UF by working with the volleyball and football teams. She later interned at the University of South Florida and worked with the football team, which was invited to the Meineke Car Care Bowl, the first bowl game in USF history. While at USF, she worked mainly with the Women’s volleyball team, and helped to cover the NCAA Women’s Final Four in 2008 and the NCAA Men’s First and Second Rounds hosted in Tampa. She also helped host the Big East Tennis and Baseball Tournaments in 2008. She came to JOI in 2008, and is presently the athletic trainer for events and practices at Florida State College at Jacksonville. Michelle also serves as Sports Medicine Director.

Savannah is a Jacksonville native who played lacrosse at the University of Central Florida where she completed her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science for Human Performance in 2015. She went on to complete her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree at the University of St.Augustine for Health Science and graduated in 2018. During her years of clinical practice, she developed a passion treating orthopedic and sports injuries for patients of all ages and backgrounds. She has a special interest in treating Parkinson’s patients as she was certified by LSVT BIG which has proven to improve communication and movement in this patient population. Savannah is excited to start her career where It all began. She enjoys spending time with her friends and family as well as staying active with strength training.

Thomas has been a certified athletic trainer since September of 2010. He has experience  working with a multitude of sports with a vast range of age groups. Originally a Massachusetts native he has traveled to London to work with cheerleaders and dancers. He has worked with professional athletes doing a summer internship with the St. Louis Rams, working with the Bridgeport Bluefish (Independent Professional Baseball team), and worked the Boston Marathon for years. He comes to us after working with three Division I universities (Brown, University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, and most recently Florida A&M University). Thomas joined JOI in August of 2018 and serves as the Head Athletic Trainer at The Bolles School.

Drew has been with JOI Rehabilitation staff more than six years. He joined the rehabilitation team in 2004, and in 2009 became Site Coordinator of JOI’s largest rehabilitation facility, San Marco. Prior to working with JOI, he completed athletic training internships with the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars and the USAT National Triathlon Training Center. He has also served as Athletic Trainer for the Jacksonville Barracudas hockey team. As an athletic trainer and avid triathlete, he enjoys working with elite and amateur athletes who have a special interest in endurance sports, including running, cycling and multisport.

He serves as a clinical liaison between JOI Rehab sites and JOI physicians to sustain consistent and exceptional patient care and to ensure that current staff is given educational opportunities to develop and enhance clinical skills.

She then attended the University of Saint Augustine for Health Sciences where she earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2018. He specializes in throwing and running biomechanics, foot orthotics fabrication, biomechanical analysis (throwing, running), and soft tissue mobilization using the Graston Technique (Level II trained). Currently, Matt is the Site Coordinator of JOI Rehabilitation – San Marco office.

Ellen Policastri AP, L.Ac, Dipl. Ac. is a licensed Acupuncture Physician in Florida, and Licensed Acupuncturist in New Jersey. Ellen is a nationally board certified Diplomat of Acupuncture (NCCAOM). Ellen began her education and training at the University of South Florida in Tampa. She then attended East West College of Natural Medicine in Sarasota where she earned her Master’s degree in Oriental Medicine and Bachelor’s degrees in both Biology and Professional Health Sciences. A native of Florida, she has recently relocated to the Jacksonville area with her husband.

Ellen has been in practice for over 11 years in an integrative setting. She is an experienced clinician and is passionate about helping people heal and stay well. She has received extensive training in sports and orthopedic acupuncture. Ellen specializes in treating acute and chronic pain syndromes as well as assisting in patient’s rehabilitation from injuries. She has worked with a broad range of patients in all age groups and focuses on a preventative and holistic approach while also providing a gentle and nurturing experience. Staying up-to-date on current research and continuing education, Ellen truly enjoys learning and educating her patients on the many benefits of acupuncture.

Lyndsey has worked in multiple physical therapy offices administratively. In 2010, Lyndsey joined the military and became an EMT and military medic. After serving time in the military, she worked as a medical assistant, and eventually decided to learn the skill of massage. Lyndsey attended Alpha School of Massage and specializes in Neuromuscular Massage. Lyndsey believes that massage is a special gift because it is equally as good for you as it feels. Lyndsey works at both our San Marco and Fleming Island facilities.

While pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training at the University of North Florida, he interned with the Jacksonville University’s football team, University of North Florida Men’s Soccer team, and Bishop Kenny High School. After graduating from the University of North Florida, Justin went on to advance his educational career at the University of Cincinnati where he graduated with Masters of Health Care Administration. At JOI, Justin is heavily involved in promoting JOI via many avenues.

Allan graduated with a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from the University of the City of Manila (Philippines) in 2000 and has been a licensed physical therapist since. He obtained his transitional doctorate degree in physical therapy with high honors from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences (2017) in St. Augustine, Florida. He has worked in various clinical settings which include long-term care, home health, acute care and out patient settings. He has been with JOI since 2013 and started working as the spine physical therapist at the JOI South Clinic – Spine Center since 2014. He is a board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) and is a current member of the Orthopedic Section of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy (AAOMPT). His area of interest includes the use of manual therapy techniques in treating various orthopedic conditions particularly the cervical and lumbar spine. He is currently working towards obtaining his manual therapy certification through the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences.

Julia is an Occupational Therapist and Certified Hand Therapist with over 20 years of experience treating upper extremity orthopaedic diagnoses. She obtained her Certification in Hand Therapy in 1992, after specializing in the field for many years. Julia has extensive experience in custom splinting and direct patient care. Julia has been the Hand Therapy Coordinator for JOI Rehabilitation and is the JOI Rehab South Site Coordinator.

For the past seven years Tiffany has worked in an outpatient orthopaedic setting, where she concentrates on hand and upper extremity rehabilitation. In 2007, she became a Certified Hand Therapist. Tiffany has been working with JOI Rehabilitation since 2006.

Joanna is one of the original members of JOI rehabilitation. She has been a CHT for over 10 years working with all injuries of the upper extremity. She also is a performing arts specialist working with Broadway physical therapy and as a dancer herself for several years prior to becoming a therapist. Joanna enjoys expanding and improving her manual skills and recently became a fascial stretch therapist. This is a certified stretching technique using a pain-free manual stretch to entire connective tissue paths rather than a certain muscle or joint. She has taught in local and national courses for upper extremity disorders and performing artist injuries. Joanna loves the team atmosphere of working with high level surgeons and fellow hand therapist.

Joe is a native of Fernandina Beach, FL where he grew up playing multiple sports. While in middle school, Joe sustained a significant knee injury requiring surgery and months of Physical Therapy. Once he was able to return to playing sports, Joe knew that he wanted to work in the Physical Therapy field and help others return to their hobbies and sports like he was able to. Since becoming a licensed PTA, Joe has had clinical experience in outpatient, skilled nursing and home health settings and has had the opportunity to work with patients with sports injuries, orthopedic, neurological, cardiac and medically complex conditions. Joe has been a member of the JOI rehab team since 2016.

Before coming to Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute, Tracy worked with teams at UAB and North Georgia College. Tracy graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Athletic Training in 2005. She completed her degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant from Florida State College of Jacksonville in 2015. Tracy enjoys working in outpatient orthopedics and has spent time with a variety of sports teams. Tracy has been with JOI since 2010.

Dominic is a graduate of the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. Through his internships and work at JOI, he has treated patients with a variety of orthopedic conditions. He enjoys the physical therapy profession and continues to keep current with the newest treatments and therapies.

Micaela grew up in central Florida and attended Jacksonville University on a Division I rowing scholarship. She interned with Jacksonville Orthopedic Institute in 2017 and 2018. Micaela joined the JOI team in 2018 as a Rehabilitation Technician. Micaela is currently working to complete her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy at Jacksonville University. She anticipates to complete her degree in 2021. She enjoys spending time at the beach, running, and spending time with her deaf dog, Orchid.

Ellen Policastri AP, L.Ac, Dipl. Ac. is a licensed Acupuncture Physician in Florida, and Licensed Acupuncturist in New Jersey. Ellen is a nationally board certified Diplomat of Acupuncture (NCCAOM). Ellen began her education and training at the University of South Florida in Tampa. She then attended East West College of Natural Medicine in Sarasota where she earned her Master’s degree in Oriental Medicine and Bachelor’s degrees in both Biology and Professional Health Sciences. A native of Florida, she has recently relocated to the Jacksonville area with her husband.

Ellen has been in practice for over 11 years in an integrative setting. She is an experienced clinician and is passionate about helping people heal and stay well. She has received extensive training in sports and orthopedic acupuncture. Ellen specializes in treating acute and chronic pain syndromes as well as assisting in patient’s rehabilitation from injuries. She has worked with a broad range of patients in all age groups and focuses on a preventative and holistic approach while also providing a gentle and nurturing experience. Staying up-to-date on current research and continuing education, Ellen truly enjoys learning and educating her patients on the many benefits of acupuncture.

Shane Nall is a native of Jacksonville Beach and a local around the beaches community in his 26 years of living. As a graduate of The Florida School of Advanced Bodywork in Jacksonville, formally known as the Southeastern Schools of Neuromuscular Massage, Shane is well versed in Structural Integration Bodywork and Neuromuscular Massage Modalities. His focus is identifying the causative factors of muscular pain and how posture can create and form muscular imbalances that cause structural pain. With a deep understanding in the anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology of the body, Shane uses multiple Medical Massage modalities to treat the pain people experience throughout daily life such as; Neuromuscular Therapy, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release Technique, and Sports Massage.

Massage Therapy and Bodywork is Shane’s passion, he is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) and currently working towards growing as a LMT, with multiple courses and certifications lined up in the future. Shane works at both our Beaches and South Rehabilitation facilities.

In his free time, Shane enjoys traveling to different surf and winter snowboard destinations. He also scuba dives and has a passion for any fun outdoor adventure.

Jon is a Jacksonville, FL native who attended the Providence School where he also played baseball. Jon was very active in sports growing up. Upon graduating, he began his career path in the Hospitality Industry in which he worked for 13 years. He chose this industry because of his love for people and love for helping and providing a service. After obtaining his A.A. at FCCJ, he moved to Orlando, FL and attended UCF’s Rosen School of Hospitality Management. Upon completing his time at UCF he returned back to Jacksonville, FL and began managing a local restaurant. Several years after beginning his management path in the industry he decided that he wanted to still serve and help people, but in a different way. He returned to school while continuing to work in the industry and for Baptist Health as a PAS representative. Upon completing his studies he began his career with JOI as a Physical Therapist Assistant. In August of 2012, he accepted the position of Spine Centers Coordinator. In March of 2015, he accepted the position of Sports Center Coordinator. He currently treats patients at our Sports Center location full time.

Ryan Darragh PT, DPT

Ryan graduated with his undergraduate degree in Athletic Training from Florida State University in 2014, working rotations with their Football, Baseball, Women’s Soccer, and Men’s basketball teams during his tenure as an athletic training student. Ryan went on to graduate with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Florida International University in Miami, Florida in 2017. He is GRASTON technique certified. Ryan enjoys spending time with his family, going to the beach, and playing sports with friends.

Born in Giessen, Germany in the region of wonderful Hessen Germany. I moved to Jacksonville in August of 2004. I graduated from High School in 1991 and moved on to a Medical Assistant Program at William Brand School. Feels like I have been around the world and back and I call Jacksonville my Home now. I am blessed with 2 wonderful children. My Hobbies are International TV, Reading and working out.

Blake graduated with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2010 with an emphasis

in manual therapy.  He has worked in outpatient orthopaedics his entire career and he

was the recipient for the 2012 Jim Harrison Award for Excellence in Patient care. He is

GRASTON Technique Certified and SFMA Certified (Selective Functional Movement Assessment).
