The JOI Rehab San Marco location is the largest Physical and Occupation Therapy Center in the Northeast Florida Region. This recently renovated clinic is on the Baptist Downtown Campus in the Reid Medical Building. JOI Rehab San Marco offers Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Hand Therapy, Massage Therapy, Acupuncture, Sports Rehab, DME or Bracing, Laser Therapy, Graston Therapy, whirlpools for wound debridement of hands, KT Taping and Return to Sports Services at our new Sports Center. We work closely with your JOI Physician but we also work with any physician who prescribes one of our services. Our goal is to return you to your prior level of function with good customer service.

Renan Abagat has been practicing Physical Therapy since 1991. He has worked in all therapy settings but the bulk of his experience is in outpatient orthopaedics. His special interests include neuromuscular reeducation as an adjunct to manual medicine. Renan works at the JOI Rehab San Marco Physical Therapy Clinic.

Lily Condy, OT, CHT, Hand Therapy Director

Prior to graduating from Occupational Therapy school, Lily Condy worked as an Exceptional Student Educator in St. Johns County, FL. She has worked in a variety of settings, including subacute care, skilled nursing, outpatient orthopedics, and home health. She is a Certified Lymphedema Therapist. After starting at JOI Rehab, Lily became a certified hand therapist and is now the Lead OT at JOI Rehab San Marco Location


Michelle Duclos

Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Sciences with a specialty in Athletic Training (University of Florida, 2005)
Master’s Degree in Physical Education with a specialty in Exercise Science (University of South Florida, 2008)

Michelle Duclos gained valuable experience at UF by working with the volleyball and football teams. Further, she later interned at the University of South Florida. She also worked with the football team, which was invited to the Meineke Car Care Bowl, the first bowl game in USF history.

While at USF, she worked mainly with the Women’s volleyball team, and helped to cover the NCAA Women’s Final Four in 2008. She also helped cover the NCAA Men’s First and Second Rounds hosted in Tampa. Further, Michelle Duclos helped host the Big East Tennis and Baseball Tournaments in 2008. She came to JOI in 2008. She is presently the athletic trainer for events and practices at Florida State College at Jacksonville. Michelle also serves as the Sports Medicine Director.

Allan Fiesta, PT

Allan Fiesta graduated with a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from the University of the City of Manila (Philippines) in 2000. He obtained his transitional doctorate degree in physical therapy with high honors from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences (2017) in St. Augustine, Florida. Further, all has worked in various clinical settings which include long-term care, home health, acute care and outpatient settings.

He has been with JOI since 2013 and started working as the spine physical therapist at the JOI South Clinic – Spine Center since 2014. He is a board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS). Further, he is a current member of the Orthopedic Section of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). Allan Fiesta is also a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy (AAOMPT). Further, his area of interest includes the use of manual therapy techniques in the cervical and lumbar spine. He is currently working towards obtaining his manual therapy certification through the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences.


Hannah Gawor, ATC

Hannah Gawor is a Florida licensed and board-certified Athletic Trainer in her first year with Jacksonville Orthopedic Institute. Hannah graduated from Kent State University in the Spring of 2017 with a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Athletic Training. Hannah joins us after 7 years of athletic training experience at the collegiate level, serving St. Andrews University in Laurinburg, North Carolina as the Director of Sports Medicine for her last three years with them.

When Hannah is not splitting her time with JOI and Episcopal School of Jacksonville, she enjoys spending time with her family, attending concerts, watching sports (specifically The Ohio State football), and spending time at the beach.

Drew joined the rehabilitation team in 2004. In 2009, he became the Site Coordinator of JOI’s largest rehabilitation facility, San Marco. He served as a clinical liaison between JOI Rehab sites and JOI physicians.  With the goal to sustain consistent and exceptional patient care and to ensure that current staff is given educational opportunities to develop and enhance clinical skills.  He currently serves in a managerial capacity as Assistant Administrator for JOI Rehabilitation.

Drew completed athletic training internships with the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars and the USAT National Triathlon Training Center.  He has attended numerous clinical training and education events around the country. He has been an adjunct professor with the University of North Florida Athletic Training Program.   Drew also serves on the advisory boards for local physical therapy and physical therapy assistant programs.  He was part of the clinical research for the United States Tennis Association.  Working with their wheelchair and adaptive sports division.   In his clinical time, Drew enjoys working with elite and amateur athletes of all types.  Finally, he has a special interest in endurance sports, including running, cycling, Crossfit and multisport.

Natalie Jackson, MS, ATC, LAT

Natalie is originally from Wichita, KS. She graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training at Wichita State University in 2020. After undergrad, she went to Southeastern Louisiana University where she obtained her Masters in Health Science and Kinesiology. Natalie gained experience working as a graduate assistant with Track and Field, Cross Country, Football, and Softball at SLU. Next, she spent a year with the Jacksonville Jaguars working as a seasonal intern before coming to JOI. Natalie works at JOI San Marco location as well as outreach to Bolles Middle School.

Zak Katzer, PTA, joined the team at JOI in 2021.  He attended Santa Fe College and the University of Central Florida where he studied nursing.  However, Zak soon realized his passion mainly focused on orthopedic rehabilitation.  He then enrolled in the PTA program at Florida State College in Jacksonville where he got his degree.  Outside of work, Zak enjoys going to the beach, watching sports, and playing wheelchair basketball for Brooks Rehabilitation.  He is planning on going back to school to pursue his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science.  You can find Zak Katzer, PTA, at JOI’s San Marco Rehab location.

Heather Lopez, OTR/L, CHT is an occupational therapist with 20 plus years of experience treating upper extremity orthopedic injuries.  She received her hand certification in 2006.  Heather works closely with the JOI surgeons to help her patients reach their functional goals.  Further, she continues to enjoy working with her colleagues in a team approach atmosphere. Heather works at the JOI Rehab San Marco Physical Therapy Clinic.

 


Amber Melton

Amber Melton, ATC

Amber has spent the majority of her career in NCAA Division II athletics at Flagler College and Wingate University. Amber received her Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences and Nutrition and Master’s in Athletic Training at the University of South Florida. After finishing her degree in Athletic Training, Amber headed to Charlotte, NC to Wingate University where she worked with Men’s and Women’s Cross Country and Track and Field and Golf. Amber spearheaded COVID-19 policies and testing procedures as well as drug testing while at WU. She also completed a Master’s in Sport Management with a concentration in Compliance at Wingate. After leaving Wingate, she spent a semester at Gardner-Webb University (NCAA DI). Starting at Flagler in 2021, Amber was the Drug Testing Coordinator while also focusing on policy and procedure updates.

In her spare time, Amber enjoys teaching Pure Barre Classes and spending time outside at the beach!

Matt has been a Certified Athletic Trainer since 1997, and especially enjoys working with post-operative knees and shoulders. He was the Sports Medicine Director (2002-08) at the JOI Rehab San Marco office.

Matt was also Head Athletic Trainer for Bishop Kenny High School from 1999 to 2005. He specializes in throwing and running biomechanics, foot orthotics fabrication, biomechanical analysis (throwing, running), and soft tissue mobilization using the Graston Technique (Level II trained). Currently, Matt is the Site Coordinator of JOI Rehabilitation – San Marco office.

Elizabeth Payne

Elizabeth Payne moved to Jacksonville from Pensacola, Florida in 2020. She has worked as a physical therapist for 27 years in numerous patient setting through the lifespan to include developmental pediatrics and school-based medically complex children, hospital acute care, subacute, and home health, with most of her patient care time in outpatient orthopedic for 18 years. Elizabeth recently joined the JOI staff in San Marco and is looking forward to working with the team in orthopedic therapy, continuing to teach and help patient’s with movement related challenges, and always striving to advance her base of knowledge and skills. Elizabeth’s outside interest include time with her family biking, exploring state parks, and working out.

Debbie Rockett has worked in several fields of Physiotherapy, and has specialized in orthopaedic outpatient therapy services. Further, she received her post-graduate certification in Mobilization of the Spine and Extremities in 1992. Recently, Debbie became an Orthopedic Certified Specialist. Further, Debbie has been with JOI since 1995.  Debbie currently works at the JOI Rehab San Marco Physical Therapy Clinic.


Tom Skinner

Tom Skinner, PTA, is a Jacksonville native and graduated from The Bolles School in 2016. He became a licensed PTA after graduating from Concorde Career College in 2025. He is passionate about helping people get back to doing what they enjoy most. Outside of work he enjoys all racquet sports but more commonly pickleball. You can find him at JOI’s San Marco Rehab location.


Katie Stallings

Katie Stallings, OTD, OTR/L

Katie was born and raised in Jacksonville and graduated from Providence High School in 2012. Katie recently graduated with her Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) in 2022 from Jacksonville University and was awarded the Brooks Rehabilitation College of Healthcare Sciences Student of the Year. Prior to pursuing her doctorate in occupational therapy, she obtained her B.S. in Exercise Physiology from UNF. Katie was a Certified Exercise Physiologist for nearly 10 years and worked as a personal trainer at the local YMCA. She also worked as a rehab technician and coordinator at Brooks Rehab skilled nursing facility. She has experience working with orthopedic, neurological, and medically complex conditions. Katie currently teaches part-time as an OTD adjunct professor at Jacksonville University and practices at the San Marco and South location, pursuing her certification in hand therapy.


Annabelle Taylor, PTA, DME Coordinator

I’m originally from Mount Dora, Florida and moved to Jacksonville, FL after graduating high school where I obtained my  Bachelors in Health Administration from the University of North Florida in 2019. Shortly after graduating from UNF, I moved to Columbus, Ohio where I graduated from PTA school at Clark State in 2023!  In my free time, I love trying new restaurants / coffee shops, reading, going to the beach, spending time with friends/family, and serving at my church.


Lauren Vick

Lauren Vick, PT, DPT

Lauren Vick is originally from the metro-Atlanta area. She went to Kennesaw State University and received her B.S in Exercise Science. She then attended the University of South Florida for her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Lauren moved to North Carolina after graduating and practiced in outpatient orthopedics for 2 years before moving back to Florida. She is certified in vestibular and concussion rehabilitation.  Lauren is currently treating patients at our San Marco Rehab location.
