The JOI Nassau/Fernandina Beach office is located on Amelia Island at Baptist Nassau. We are located in Medical office B on the third floor. When walking in, take the elevator on the right to the third floor. Our office is on the right and down the hall.

Rehab Services
The Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute Rehabilitation has 10 Physical Therapy Centers in the Northeast Florida Region. One of our locations is in Nassau County/Fernandina Beach.
JOI Rehab at Nassau offers numerous services to accommodate your physical therapy needs for joint pain, back issues or sports injuries. We also offer Occupational Therapy to patients looking to get the independence they experienced prior to injury. Most of our Occupational Therapists are also Certified Hand Therapists (CHT), specializing in evaluating and treating injuries and conditions of the upper extremity. No matter what your injury is, the team at JOI will work together with your Orthopedic Physician to achieve the best outcome for each patient.

Adam Hutchison PT, DPT – Site Coordinator
Bachelor of Science in Biology (Purdue University, 2014)
Doctorate of Physical Therapy (University of Dayton, 2018)
Adam is originally from the Chicago-land Area and moved to Jacksonville shortly after graduate school. While in PT school Adam fulfilled multiple clinical rotations all over the country, with a special focus on orthopedics and sports medicine. During his final year at the University of Dayton, Adam was able to complete an Independent Study at DePaul University in Chicago working with Division I college athletes. Adam started working at JOI in June 2018 and currently splits his time between the San Marco and Nassau clinics. In his off time Adam enjoys exercising, playing soccer and spending time outside with friends and family. Adam is the site coordinator for the JOI Nassau Physical Therapy Clinic.

Laura Kreger, OTR/L, CHT
Bachelor or Science in Occupational Therapy (University of Illinois at Chicago 1988)
Laura graduated with honors from University of Illinois at Chicago in 1988. She has spent her career focusing on orthopedic upper extremity rehabilitation. Laura became a Certified Hand Therapist in 1993. Since that time she has taken many opportunities to further her education. She’s done this through continuing education, membership in professional organizations such as American Society of Hand Therapist, hand study groups and further certifications such as; Graston soft tissue technique, kinesio taping, LSVT BIG. Laura takes a hands on approach to therapy. Her goal is to achieve the highest level of function for her clients. Throughout her career Laura has always worked closely with the hand surgeons she works with to provide the best care for her clients through good communication regarding diagnosis and treatment options.

Joe Stubits, PTA

Joe Stubits is a native of Fernandina Beach, FL where he grew up playing multiple sports. While in middle school, Joe sustained a significant knee injury requiring surgery and months of Physical Therapy. Once he was able to return to playing sports, Joe he wanted to work in the Physical Therapy field. To help others return to their hobbies and sports like he was able to.
Since becoming a licensed PTA, Joe has had clinical experience in outpatient, skilled nursing and home health settings and has had the opportunity to work with patients with sports injuries, orthopedic, neurological, cardiac and medically complex conditions. Joe has been a member of the JOI rehab team since 2016.

Mariah True, PTA

Mariah True was born in Maine and has moved to several different states throughout the East, West, and Gulf Coast. For the past eight years Fernandina Beach, FL has been her home. Mariah graduated from Florida State College of Jacksonville in 2019 and became a licensed PTA in 2020. Prior to becoming a Physical Therapist Assistant, Mariah attained her Associates in Exercise Science from the University of North Florida. Mariah recently joined the JOI team in 2021 and is splitting her time between the Nassau, Arlington, and North clinics. In her free time she enjoys traveling, working out, and spending time with her family and friends.

Aisha George, LMT
Aisha, took a love for massage at a very young age. She started as young as 8 years old, rubbing on her parents’ aching feet and walking on their sore backs, to help relieve them of discomfort. She continued to exercise her healing touch throughout High School, as an athlete, there were always team members in need of soft tissue mobilization. It was destiny for her to continue her love for her massage after she graduated high school.
Licensed since 2004, she has continued to practice her endearment for helping people throughout their healing journey and she is always eager to learn new modalities. Currently a Licensed Massage Therapist and a Certified Medical Massage Practitioner. In her spare time, she likes to wire wrap crystals and gemstones to make beautiful jewelry to which she also holds a certification in Crystal Healing Therapy. Born a genuine humanitarian, she feels as if it’s her natural birth right to be a part of helping humanity heal.
