Terri J Ahern
Terri J Ahern OTR/L
Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy and Minor in Psychology (University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, )
Terri has experience in multiple setting including UE orthopedics , pediatrics, and general inpatient rehabilitation specializing in spinal cord injuries. Terri has been an active military spouse for 26 yrs. Completed the AOTA Fieldwork Educator Certification Program(FWECP) and Graston Certification.
Lisa Chekanowsky, MS, ATC, LAT, PES
Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training (Duquesne University, 2007)
Master of Science in Exercise Science with a concentration in Performance Enhancement and Injury Prevention (California University of Pennsylvania, 2009)
Lisa received her Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from Duquesne University (Pittsburgh, PA) in 2007. She continued on to earn a Masters degree in Exercise Science while working as a Graduate Intern at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, where she was the Athletic Trainer for the Men’s Football, Wrestling, and Women’s Softball teams. After moving to Florida, Lisa worked as the Head Athletic Trainer at Flagler Palm Coast High School in Palm Coast, FL. Lisa joined JOI in July of 2012, and is currently the Head Athletic Trainer at Bishop J. Snyder High School, providing medical coverage for all Cardinal student-athletes.
Justin Delicato, PTA – Site Coordinator
Associate of Science in Physical Therapist Assistant (Concorde Career Institute, 2013)
Justin has worked at Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute since 2008 as a Rehabilitation Technician at the San Marco Rehab Office. After completing his PTA program he relocated to the Fleming Island Office. Justin took on the role of site coordinator in 2016.
Krystal Newbern, PT, DPT, OCS
Bachelor of Science in Biology (North Carolina Wesleyan College, 2007)
Doctorate of Physical Therapy (University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, 2012)
Completed orthopaedic PT residency program through University of St. Augustine and and she is an Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist board certification.
Tiffany Wink, PT, DPT, ATC
Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training (Weber States University, 2011)
Doctorate of Physical Therapy (University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, 2015)
Tiffany is from Utah, she has 4 siblings. She enjoys running and playing board games with family. She graduated from Weber State University in 2011 with a degree in athletic training. She came to Florida in 2013 to attend the University of Saint Augustine for Health sciences to pursue her physical therapy degree. Tiffany graduated April 2015 and joined the JOI team in June 2015.
Alex Herington, ATC, LAT – DME Specialist
Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science with an Emphasis in Athletic Training (Central College, 2014)
Alex earned his Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from Central College in Pella, Iowa. Shortly after graduation, he moved to Tallahassee where he served as an athletic trainer with a group of orthopedic surgeons, during this time he gained particular interests in both operative and non-operative orthopedics . He has also served as an athletic trainer for various schools throughout NE Florida and the Panhandle. Alex joined JOI in September of 2018 and serves as a DME specialist for the San Marco, Riverside, and Fleming Island locations.
Melinda Kirk – Front Desk
Melinda is a long time resident of Clay County. She has worked in the medical field for over 16 years as a Medical Billing & Coding Specialist, Medical Coder, and Customer Service Representative. Melinda Joined JOI in February 2017. She is active in her local church and enjoys crafting, camping, and spending time with her family.
Belinda Weaver – Front Desk
Born in Nashville, TN. I currently posses an Associates Of Science in Nursing and have been in the medical field since 2005. I am a mother of 3 teenagers and a 4 year old. A functioning mess by day and a football/T-ball mom by night. I am a wonderful wife, a fantastic cook, an excellent care taker, a taxi and carpool driver for my kids, a lover of most sports, and most importantly I am a person of faith. “If you need something done, ask a busy person to do it.
