Demetria Velazquez, PT, DPTDemetria Velazquez earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Texas State University in San Marcos, TX. She has experience working with the outpatient orthopedic population, as well as with acute care and orthopedic patients post-operatively. She has a strong passion for helping people of all ages and activity levels. Prior to physical therapy school, Demetria earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Marketing from Regis University in Denver, Colorado. Demetria Velazquez was born and raised in San Antonio, TX. She danced professionally for the Alamo City Dance Company for 9 years. She was also captain of the Regis University Rangers dance team in college. Her involvement in dance sparked her interest in the human body and movement, which ultimately led to her pursuing a career in physical therapy.

Alexander Bigale is a Florida native who grew up playing baseball. He went on to play baseball for Chipola College while earning his A.S. before transferring to the University of Central Florida to focus on his bachelor’s degree. Alex then decided to attend FSCJ to become a physical therapist assistant. Since becoming licensed, Alex has clinical experience in outpatient orthopedics, skilled nursing rehab, and balance/vestibular rehabilitation. Alex has been a member of the JOI rehab team since 2018.
Niki Kelley, PT, DPT, ATC

Niki graduated from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in 2015 with her doctorate in physical therapy with an emphasis in manual therapy. During her clinical experiences she treated a wide variety of patient’s including pediatrics, acute care and various sports and orthopaedic injuries. Prior to becoming a Physical Therapist, Niki graduated from Texas Christian University, with a Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training, and worked with various D1 collegiate and professional athletes. She is currently working towards obtaining his Manual Therapy Certification from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences.
Emily Kolar, PT, DPT

Emily Kolar is from Venice, FL where she participated in a variety of sports growing up. These include soccer in high school which resulted in an injury that led not only to surgery, but also to discovering her dream of becoming a physical therapist. Emily graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2015. She graduated with a Major in Sport and Exercise Science for Human Performance, and Minor in Fitness Training. She then attended the University of Saint Augustine for Health Sciences where she earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2018. Emily has clinical experience in a variety of therapy settings including outpatient, inpatient, aquatics, and vestibular. She is passionate about patient care and applying evidence based practice.
Kim Segler, OTR/L, CHT
Kim Segler has worked in a variety of settings including acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient rehabilitation, orthopaedics, and home health care. She has also worked with the JOI hand surgeons since 1997, and joined JOI rehabilitation in 2004.

Taylor Adams, Front Desk
Taylor is a Graduate of Frank H. Peterson Academy. She will be continuing her education in the medical field while expanding her experience and knowledge at JOI. Taylor loves the beach as well as traveling.
Lisa Boddie, Site Coordinator
Lisa has worked in the medical field for over 20 years as a Medical Assistant. She has been with JOI MD since 2012 and transferred to Rehab in 2018.
