Demetria Velazquez, PT, DPT
Demetria Velazquez earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Texas State University in San Marcos, TX. She has experience working with the outpatient orthopedic population, as well as with acute care and orthopedic patients post-operatively. She has a strong passion for helping people of all ages and activity levels. Prior to physical therapy school, Demetria earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Marketing from Regis University in Denver, Colorado.
Demetria Velazquez was born and raised in San Antonio, TX. She danced professionally for the Alamo City Dance Company for 9 years. She was also captain of the Regis University Rangers dance team in college. Her involvement in dance sparked her interest in the human body and movement, which ultimately led to her pursuing a career in physical therapy.

Alexander Bigale is a Florida native who grew up playing baseball. He went on to play baseball for Chipola College while earning his A.S. before transferring to the University of Central Florida to focus on his bachelor’s degree. Alex then decided to attend FSCJ to become a physical therapist assistant. Since becoming licensed, Alex has clinical experience in outpatient orthopedics, skilled nursing rehab, and balance/vestibular rehabilitation. Alex has been a member of the JOI rehab team since 2018.
Genesis Villanueva, PT, DPT – Site Coordinator
Genesis Villanueva has practiced in a variety of Rehab settings from Acute/Sub-acute care to Home Health Physical Therapy. Furthermore, Genesis has taken various specialization courses, primarily in manual therapy applications, and functional movement screens.

Caitlin Violette, PT, DPT
Caitlin Violette is a graduate from Florida International University with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Prior to becoming a Physical Therapist, Caitlin graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science. Caitlin is a Graston Certified Physical Therapist. During her clinical experiences, she treated a variety of orthopaedic injuries with people of all ages and activity levels. Caitlin’s hobbies include triathlons, photography, shooting, and going to the beach.

Before coming to Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute, Tracy Wilcox worked with teams at UAB and North Georgia College. Tracy graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Athletic Training in 2005. Further, she completed her degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant from Florida State College of Jacksonville in 2015. Tracy Wilcox enjoys working in outpatient orthopedics and has spent time with a variety of sports teams. Tracy has been with JOI since 2010.
Ann Brockett, Intake Coordinator, Front Desk
Ann Brockett was born in Missouri, but spent the great majority of her life in the greater Washington, DC area. Ann attended college at the Washington Adventist University in Takoma Park, Maryland, with a major in English Communications. The vast majority of her career has been in hospitality, beginning in hotel operations and transitioning to hotel human resources. For the last fifteen years, Ann Brockett has been the Human Resources Director at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center in Alexandria, VA. In February of 2020, she joined her extended family in relocating to Nocatee, accompanied by her precocious 2 year old Mini-Goldendoodle, Dude. Anne is an avid baseball fan, and still keeps up to date with her beloved Washington Nationals.
