Michael L. Adams MD
Michael L. Adams, MD, FAAOS completed residency at Tulane University prior to entering active duty service in the United States Navy where he fixed Sailors and Marines both home and abroad. He has provided that same level of care to Florida residents since 2009, specializing in arthroscopic and minimally invasive management of all joint and soft tissue disorders. As a prior Division 1 collegiate athlete, he has maintained an interest in sports medicine and returning athletes of all ages back to action. Dr. Adams’ areas of expertise include shoulders, hips, knees, arthroscopy, sports medicine, and minimally invasive joint replacement options.
I have enjoyed the Florida sun, moving to the Emerald Coast in 2009, having spent the prior decade plus with the Navy in the South Carolina Lowcountry as well as the Cajun Country of Southeast Louisiana. I look forward to a new start on the First Coast, where my family and I, including two chocolate labs, Jax and Beaux, plan to continue our active and fit outdoor lifestyle of golfing, boating, and exercising.
My philosophy of care revolves around including my patients from the beginning in a “dialogue” that ensures they fully understand all aspects of their treatment plan and actively participate in the decision process. I believe that my patients are an extension of my family, and treat them as I would want to be treated were I in their shoes. Although surgery is near and dear to my heart, we emphasize non-operative and preventive management when appropriate.
I prefer to be involved in the community helping both people and animals. I am an active and fervent supporter of youth athletics and community outreach, as well as animal adoption and rescue. Dr. Adams is the team physician for the Jacksonville Sharks Arena Football Team.
