David Paul Taormina, MD

Dr. David Taormina is a graduate of Stony Brook University and the New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY. He completed his residency training in Orthopedic Surgery at NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital in Manhattan, NY (formerly known as the Hospital for Joint Diseases). Dr. Taormina furthered his specialized training at the Jackson Memorial Hospital – University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in the area of hand and micro-surgery reconstruction.

Dr. Taormina provides orthopedic treatment of the upper and lower extremity including conservative and surgical treatment options. His treatment strategies are tailored to the individual and their specific ailment, including the use of bracing, physical therapy, and injections when possible. If conservative options become ineffective, he may suggest surgical treatment alternatives. His area of surgical expertise for the upper and lower extremity includes the management of arthritis, treatment of nerve compression syndromes (carpal and cubital tunnel), the use of endoscopic and minimally invasive release techniques, tendon injuries, trigger fingers, as well as fracture care of the hand, wrist, elbow, hip, knee and ankle and joint replacement (arthroplasty) surgery for large and small joints.
