Hip Hinge for Low Back Pain
Many patients suffer from lower back pain and have difficulty doing everyday tasks most of us take for granted such as brushing your teeth and cleaning dishes. When we lean forward over the sink to perform these everyday tasks, we place a tremendous amount of stress on the lower back which can cause excessive pressure on the disks in the spine.
An easy and effective way to combat this pain is to perform a hip hinge. To perform this movement effectively, place one foot either in the cabinet under the sink or on a 6 inch Step Stool in front of you. This will cause you to do a hinge at the hip versus flexing the spine.
