High Ankle Sprain

Watch this VIDEO to learn about HIGH ANKLE SPRAINS for Dr. Hiram Carrasquillo.

A high ankle sprain is an injury to the ligaments above the ankle joint. These ligaments help to stabilize the entire area, and connect the ankle joint to the Tibia and Fibula. This type of sprain is much less common than the similar injury of spraining the lower ankle. These injuries are usually a result of twisting or over rotating the ankle.
