Fusion of the Cervical Spine
By Ehren Allen, PT
Fusion of the Cervical Spine or Neck Fusion
Fusion of the Cervical Spine or Neck Fusion is a surgery which fuses two or more neck bones together. The bones in the cervical spine are called vertebrae. Cervical fusions are performed by several Orthopaedic Spine Specialists at the Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute. The purpose of a Cervical Fusion is to add space between two vertebrae and prevent movement at their spine level. Upon evaluation of patients needing this surgery, they have some sort of instability in the affected area. Therefore, if you have been told that you have instability in your neck and you want to learn more about this procedure, please read this article: https://www.joionline.net/trending/content/cervical-fusion.
