The Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute Concussion Center
The JOI Concussion Center is focused on diagnosis, management and facilitation of return to play or return to daily activity protocols with patients. Concussions are typically traumatic brain injuries that negatively affect brain functions. Often times concussions are resultant from sports or activities resulting in violent whipping of the head.
Should any of the following symptoms be present, then you may be suffering from a concussion:
- headaches and problems with concentration
- decreased balance and coordination
- dizziness
- nausea
- vomiting
- fatigue
- sensitivity to light
- hindered sleeping patterns
- loss of memory
If you suspect a concussion, you should immediately seek the medical attention of a physician or medical professional.
