What Makes Quality Care Better At JOI Rehab?

At JOI Rehab, quality care is the 1st and highest priority.  Our therapists continually discuss patient care to make sure that you receive the latest and most innovative plan of care.  This includes regularly reviewing peer-reviewed research and incorporating current research into our practice.

The Therapists of JOI Rehab communicate daily with our Physicians to create specific care plans for your individual needs.  Our therapists understand that each patient is unique and needs custom individualized care.

The team approach at JOI Rehab sets us apart.  With doctors and therapists under the same roof in most of our offices, JOI Rehab is a continuation of the advanced care of the Physicians of the Jacksonville Orthopedic Institute. Our doctors and therapists also meet regularly to review current medical research together.  In other words, this keeps our clinicians on the cutting edge for you.

How Did JOI Rehab Respond to COVID-19?

At the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis, JOI Rehab made quick changes.  We were concerned about the safety of our patients and staff.  We also recognized the potential health risks for our patients if they were unable to complete their rehabilitation.  This was true for patients who had surgery but it was also a concern for those who may be injured during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

We quickly began Telehealth visits.  Telehealth visits are virtual appointments over the internet.  With a virtual visit, patients can schedule an appointment and have a therapy visit using their computer.  They simply log in to ZOOM, a free virtual meeting app, and use the camera on their laptop or mobile device to view and communicate with the therapist.

JOI Rehab has also initiated the JOI Rehab Bridge Program.  This program allows our therapists to travel to our patients who are unable to leave home due to increased risk.  The Bridge program is a great option for JOI Rehab to extend our high-quality care to those who cannot get to us.

JOI Rehab took unprecedented steps within our facilities to ensure that quality and safety were in place during COVID-19.  This included extra spacing between equipment, extra cleaning and disinfecting of all equipment, and universal mask requirements for all patients, staff, and vendors in our facilities.

Is JOI Rehab Still Making Changes?

The quick answer is YES!  We are never satisfied. We will always explore ways that we can make your experience with us better! Patients have the ability to complete their intake paperwork online ahead of time as well.  This allows patients to fill out insurance information and medical history forms before they arrive for their initial visit. Therefore, our goal is to improve the patient experience and limit the amount of time in our waiting area prior to an appointment.
