Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute Hip Team
What is the Purpose of the Hip Team?
The Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute Hip Team was created so that JOI Physicians and JOI physical therapists could work together to improve the care of our patients. The purpose of this team is to use vertical integration to improve communication between the physicians and the therapists regarding each individual patient. The enhanced communication helps create new treatment and surgical techniques, and collaborate learning in order to spark innovation in hip treatment. The JOI Hip Team meets monthly to discuss topics, protocols, and advancements in hip treatment, such as hip preservation.
How does the Hip Team Work?
There are a few different ways that the JOI Hip Team stays up to date with the latest advancements in hip treatment. The first way is article review. Each member of the Hip Team reads and reviews the latest articles written on hip treatments. Another way that the Hip Team gains knowledge on hip treatment is by attending various hip courses and seminars. This is also a great way for the Hip Team to network and create new methods of treatment. Lastly, physicians along with the rest of the hip team, conduct in-depth discussion on patient progress reports. This ensures that each patient is receiving the highest quality care for the best possible outcome
