Graston Technique
By Matt Paulus, MS, ATC, LAT
Graston Technique
We are pleased to incorporate the Graston Technique into our physical therapy treatment protocols. This treatment uses specially designed stainless steel instruments for the detection and treatment of soft tissue dysfunction/injury. In addition, these instruments help us to mobilize your soft tissue while you are performing rehabilitative exercises. The goal of these exercises is to improve your function.
These instruments detect and amplify soft tissue restrictions and dysfunction, and enhance our ability to decrease your treatment time and increase your functional outcome. Furthermore, we often use this technique twice per week to treat:
- Tendinitis
- Tennis Elbow
- Tenosynovitis
- Epicondylitis
- Plantar fasciitis
- Ligament Sprains
- Muscle Strains
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
- Edema Reduction
- Scar Tissue Adhesions
- Other Injuries (involving soft tissue)
